What a character this poor mixed up Scoundrel is. Be careful, you never know how he’s going to be on any given day. Light olive standards are irregularly splashed dark violet. Yellow styles are about the only stable part of Scoudrel. Centers of light olive falls are slate violet irregularly marked plum. Big, plush dark gold beards are flanked by gold hafts. Markings are quite variable depending on weather.

Sweet fragrance. Golden yellow standards with a rust-red infusion at the midrib. Falls are near solid mahogany-red with a little bit of gold showing through and a pencil thin gold petal edge. Slight fragrance. Medium lavender standards are infused violet in the center and etched with a deep violet wire rim. Falls are a plush burgundy to black with a narrow lighter rim. Light sweet fragrance. Light lemon standards have dark lemon centers extending to deep lemon veining to petal edge. Falls are a rich dark maroon with a slightly lighter area around the beard and then a light cherry rose band surrounds the petal. Nicely ruffled and branched with good clean color contrast. Sdlg. Some iris just remind me of food, perhaps it is just my insatiable appetite talking, but this one reminds me of some sort of yummy mango flavored dessert. Say the Word has very ruffled mango to peach blended standards and edge on white falls with a deep mango wash on the hafts and below the beard. A good grower and bloomer, Say the Word is a stunner; especially in full sun the color really shines. Very unique and won’t be confused with another. Gorgeous!!

Slight sweet fragrance. Clean brilliant mustard gold standards. Falls are cream with a light yellow touched wash. The falls are banded Deep oxblood red that is deeper and solid at the hafts and a showy oxblood center belly stripe that extends from the sienna beard to distal end. Excellent stems that are strong and with 9 buds will win on the show bench. Intensely dramatic in person. A wow iris for sure.

Sweet fragrance. One of our favorite intros for this year and that is saying a lot with its competition and the fact that it is a plicata. The color on this is hard to convey in a picture as the presence it has in the garden. It is simply spectacular in clump with its extremely bright color and sharp pattern. Standards are icy white with a near solid overlay of blue lilac. The falls are white with a blue haft, center dart below beard, and band. Even the beard is tipped in blue. Gorgeous, wide, and ruffled form make it irresistible. Running In Circles has also been admired by garden visitors. Recommended! you won’t be sorry! Sdlg. No fragrance. Peach and cream blended standards. White falls with a wide red violet plicata band and thin belly stripe that extends from below the beard to distal end. Nice classic rounded form shows off the deeply contrasting dark mustard yellow style arms, creating quite a dramatic look. Strong growth and show stems with loads of buds allows for a very long season of bloom. A very good and showy garden iris.
