Pronounced musky fragrance There seems to be no end to the variability of the ‘Action Packed’ type veined standards and falls. Standards have chalky light red-brown centers washed to mid red-brown and darker to cream band stitched and sanded light red-brown. Falls have narrow white patches sandwiched between light yellow hafts and mustard beards and decorated with dark red-brown veins and mottling. The cream ground of the lower fall disappears in a heavy overlay of red-black veins. Light yellow dotted rims and stitched reverse encircle them. Three well-spaced branches and spur have 7-8 buds. Sweet fragrance. Coming from a cross made for different amoena plicatas comes this vibrant striking fancy plicata. The standards have a base color of white, heavily overlaid and veined light violet. The falls are basically lemon yellow heavily overlaid and veined violet, deepening towards purple on the lower part of the falls. Beards are orange-gold over white. Prolific grower and flowerer. Some show stems. Makes a spectacular garden show. Fertile.

Smoky orchid-pink Standards; Falls have cream ground showing through in center with a dark red-violet plicata band, haft and center stripe. Striking burnt orange beards create a dramatic effect. Nice stems with 9 buds! Much admired by visitors at the 2015 national convention! Pretty!

Light sweet fragrance. It is hard not to think positive when viewing this happy, cheerful iris. Standards are a brilliant canary yellow. Falls are creamy white with a canary yellow haft and band. There is also a touch of lilac on the shoulders and blushed below the beard. An interesting and beautiful application of color. Nicely ruffled, well-branched show stems are the norm. Sdlg. Slight sweet fragrance. Its not the least bit pushy or brash. Subtle beauty is its allure. Pastel pink standards blend paler to delicate white edges. White fall centers blend to light pink then lighten toward edges and have darker pink texture veins. White beards whisper to get your attention; no need to shout. Three evenly spaced branches produce 7-8 buds. ‘Politely Pink’ was a charmer from the minute it first opened as a seedling.

A delicious ruffled creamy pastel. The standards are creamy white, flushed lavender and shading to lemon at the midribs. Falls are white with 1/4” blended edge of creamy lemon. Beards are crisp soft lemon over white. Exceptional form and display in a clump. Super show Iris and should be an exceptional parent.

Listen to the changes in rhythm, voice, timbre and harmony of a great symphony and then add a little plic magic to it. The range of colors and markings of ‘Plic Symphony’ is quite appealing. Centers of white standards have random mid violet dotting and midribs transitioning to wide mid plum plic bands. Centers of dark yellow falls are dotted dark red-brown becoming heavier toward dark wine plic bands. Marigold beards are surrounded by a white patch lined and sanded dark brown. Showy clumps of stalks with 3 branches and 8-10 buds.

Musky fragrance. Light pink standards with a lilac line up the midrib. Falls have a pink ground with a deep purple dotted edge and center line extending below the beard. Sweet fragrance. Medium flesh pink standards. Falls are medium rose lilac with a white spray pattern around and extending below the red-orange beard. Tall well branched and budded show stems are the norm. The large flowers and the expansive ruffles create quite an elegant garden show. Very nice! Sdlg. TL29A: Naked Beauty sib.

White ground standards are almost completely sanded and dotted gold, lighter in the center. Falls are white with deep red violet hafts and rim at distal end of petal. The border on the sides of the fall is heavily dotted medium lavender. Yellow beards with light lavender tips add to the interest. This is a very interesting and different color combination for a plicata. Very lovely and cheery. A good strong grower with nice stems and buds and classic form. Fantastic! Sadly, for hybridizers the cross tag had faded and I could not read it, so it is unknown parentage.

Love the contrast between the petals and the horn on this one. Standards are pink with deep orchid at the base. Falls are creamy pink, deepening to a pink rim. Beards start out light orange in the throat, changing to medium violet at the end. Extending from the beards are large upturned deep violet-blue fuzzy horns. 7 to 8 buds.

A super clean and sharp pattern really makes PHOTO SHOOT stand out with its pristine white ground and precise blue to violet dotting around both the standards and falls. A dark violet black bar across the hafts and deep purple style arms add to the drama. Even the beards add a bit of mystery being yellow in the throat then becoming lighter with violet tips. Super nice ruffled form completes the package. Not just another purple plicata!

Slight sweet fragrance. As I work toward pink ground plicatas interesting combos are happening. The standards of Perky Lass are light pinkish salmon, lightly washed light violet. Cream standards are flushed and veined lemon yellow. Falls have large butter yellow sunburst around beard and is surrounded by a wide rust red band with slightly lighter rim. Excellent grower and prolific bloomer with strong stalks carrying 9 buds. A gorgeous garden iris.
