TB Midseason-Late 35” (89cm)
Slight sweet fragrance. This cross is another that yielded many quality seedlings from which choices had to be made as to what goes and what stays. Big broad and heavily ruffled flowers are presented on strong show stalks. Standards have wide purple black plicata bands and only centers show their white ground. Styles are near black. Super wide falls are warm white shaded buff over hafts. Dark purple plicata bands encircle the falls and unusual waxy black chevrons surround rich dark black-brown beards. Strong show stalks have 3 branches and spur to show of 10-12 buds. A must have.

EYES OF AN ANGEL (T. Johnson ’21)
TB Late 35” (89cm)
I have been working on the blue bearded pink iris pattern for quite a few years. The biggest challenge is to keep the blue beard and get the petals a more true pink and less lavender pink. I am quite happy with Eyes of an Angel. Beautiful pink standards and edge on white falls with frosted powder blue beards. Wonderful wide and ruffled flowers on good stems. A knockout in person and a must for the lover of blue bearded pinks.

Mid yellow styles peer from between them. Dark red plum falls blend inward to dark red violet then to near black centers. Darker veins underlay the entire fall. Dark yellow throat and hafts of falls are plicata lined and sanded black mahogany. The lower 2/3rds of fall is dark mahogany black. Big bright beards are two-toned marigold to yellow. No word description will do it justice. The falls plic pattern somewhat approximates a pumila spot plicata. Mid cantaloupe styles peer from inside light pink standards blending to buff margins. Mid cantaloupe falls have mid plum plicata hafts and streak at the end of tangerine beards. The plic band becomes paler and narrower as it continues around the falls. Five branches and 10-11 buds.

TB Midseason 36” (91.5cm)
Sweet fragrance. Milky white standards have medium lemon centers. Falls have a large maroon signal in the center that is touched gold on either side of the beard. The signal then bleeds down the fall and transitions to a solid deep lilac and finally becoming lighter lilac, forming a band at the petal’s edge. This has been a fun iris to hybridize with for the pansy face pattern. Oddly enough it is a sister to Loving Embrace which is a salmon amoena and Brilliant Debut which is a yellow amoena. So the range of colors in this cross is amazing. Sdlg. TJ334A: Loving Embrace sib.
