Slight fragrance. Medium pink standards. White falls are flushed pink, becoming deeper at the edges. Beards are a lovely violet blue with just a brushing of orange at the hair tips, giving a very pretty effect. No fragrance Breeding for a pure white with dark blue beard TBs has been the pursuit of many hybridizers and one that has yet to be accomplished. The link between beard saturation and petal color has been near impossible to break. The darker the beard, the bluer the petals. The whiter the petals, the lighter the beard becomes. ‘Caterpillar Blues’ is a very light reverse blue amoena with a darker blue beard. Disease resistant foliage and durable plants produce plenty of bloom stalks with 3 branches and 6-7 buds.

Standards are very light yellow to white with a darker edge. Falls have a large yellow central sunburst area with a white flash below the beard. There is a very wide deep mahogany red band. The flowers are extremely wide and ruffled with a wild pattern.

CELEBRITY DREAM (T. Johnson ’24)

Light fragrance. Standards have a white ground that is washed pink, with a deeper pink stitched band. Falls are pristine white with a wide raspberry to purple dotted band across the haft and precise dotted fall edge. Burnt orange beards are tipped purple and then white. A stunning iris! CHALLENGE ACCEPTED (T. Johnson ’25)

This one is a bit hard to describe. Standards are a lovely blended lavender with medium burnt orange centers transitioning to orange veins as they move toward the edge. Falls are a complex blend of colors that appear as a deep burnt orange to red creating a very lovely and distinctive color. Great branching and stems carry well-formed flowers that are a true delight. Coming from the beautifully colored and formed Shockaholic. Challenge Accepted is a nice advancement in this color pattern.

CHAMBER OF SECRETS (Thomas Johnson ’22)

Sweet fragrance. Medium purple standards with a strong red violet wash through the center of the petal. The falls are medium purple heavily washed red violet and then edged medium purple. A striking flower that is well formed and ruffled. Seven buds are held on slightly top branched stems.

CHANGE OF HABIT (P. Black '25)

It is easy to make a habit of this well-formed light silvery blue-violet and dark purple bitone with neat two-tone beards. Show stalks have three branches plus two spurs and 10-11 buds. Makes a lovely clump. Another very interesting parentage.

Hold the presses. A riot is beginning. Chaos Monkeys are creating havoc. WOW! Impressive, big blindingly orange beards refuse to go unnoticed as they sit prominently on dark indigo blooms with light peach luminata patches and white style arms. Nothing else like it!

Light sweet fragrance. Icy blue white standards with a light blue edge. Falls are white with a deep inky blue-black band. Yellow orange beards scream out from the heart. This is the traditional emma cook pattern but with a much deeper blue band than we have seen before. Quite dramatic in person and not to be overlooked. Sdlg. TK24ZZ: Hard To Resist X Brouhaha.

Slight spicy fragrance It is a lovely luminata from two excellent parents. Dusky rose standards blend lighter to light yellow bands. White luminata patches on mid purple blended falls are splashed with pretty marigold beards.

Just lovely! The standards are cream with a yellow flush coming ¾ of the way up the mid ribs and the reverse of standards is just cream. Falls are plush burgundy with 3/16” well defined edge of soft lilac. Beards are bronze over purple giving a very dark effect. Very wide and ruffled and plenty of buds give a long bloom season.
