‘Moment to Treasure’ is like that perfect day with a light breeze, blue skies and warm tempeatures. This clean and pretty bicolor has mid pink standards and medium lavender falls with mauve hafts. Soft tangerine beards transition to white. Strong show stalks and plenty of buds as one would expect from this pedigree.

Moderately sized flowers are born in profusion on this extremely showy gem. Light slate blue blended standards are the perfect foil for white falls with mid yellow hafts and bands. Super strong growth with up to 10 buds ensures a long bloom season. A huge clump of this last spring was stunning and earned it the cover one of our previous catalogs.

‘Winter’s Smile’ is big and broad and smiling from ear to ear. Here’s another selection from the “beauty” cross. Plush warm white flowers have big looping ruffles. Standards have a greenish blush up midribs. Strongly flared falls are blushed palest gold over hafts. Warm white beards touched pale tan don’t detract from the classic sculp- tured form. Robust clean growth produces clumps filled with show stalks having 3 branches and 9-10 buds.

Big, round and buxom. She was ‘Born this Way’. Frothy, exuberantly ruffled fuchsia rose falls are widely banded near white with an interesting veined transition between central color and banding. Strong well-branched stalks carry these beauties in regal fashion. Easy increaser. Unfortunately the cross tag was lost.

This bright and showy iris is being named in honor of Thomas’s grandmother. It is a beauty to look at and a durable workhorse in the garden. Clear vivid yellow standards color is repeated over the hafts. Mid lavender blue blended falls give way to brassy gold bands.

No reason that I can think of to be normal when you can be outrageous. ‘Why Be Normal’ is a true flat iris, one having no standards and six falls with beards rather than one that merely has weak standards. Mid caramel falls have mid brown hafts and center stripes extending from mid mustard gold beards. Nest of white styles with gold crests is very cool. Nicely branched stalks have no trouble supporting these large flowers.

As one would expect from this parentage, ‘Water Waltz’ has large flowers with plenty of undulating ruffles. Standards are clear mid blue with falls slightly lighter and beards unobtrusive blue white. Strong show Stalks are the norm.

You’ll be drawn again and again to this beautifully formed dark purple and white plicata. Bright white fall centers contrasted with purple black shaded plic bands draw your eye from any distractions. Unique dark purple beards are topped dark old gold. Well-branched stalks have 9-14 buds. Excellent growth. ‘Midnight Velvet’ creates a showy clump you won’t soon forget.

Heavily ruffled standards are brilliant sunshine yellow. Fall centers are light violet with wide, shaded center elipse of dark violet. Mid yellow gold haft’s color continues in pleated ruffles around falls. Beards are dark marigold. Expect about seven of these showy creations per stalk. Growth is strong, vigorous and clean. Makes a fantastic clump.

This girl has gone completely and totally wild. Standards transition from peach bases to light gold margins. Cream fall centers are overlaid with red lines becoming a red wash over light gold base. When you’ve got this much starch and substance, it’s easy to Dance Till Dawn. Bright golden yellow flowers have tightly crimped and ruffled edges. Fall centers become lighter, ending in small white patches beneath tangerine to yellow beards. It has strong growth and show branched stalks as one would expect from its parent Dream Team. Foliage is clean and healthy. Should be a very interesting parent with genes from pink and blue breeding plus the much heralded Decadence.
