‘Crashing Whitecaps’ is a superior iris in all respects. You’ll be glad you have it in your garden when you see its clump filled with show stalks standing tall among robust clean foliage. Cool white standards and styles color is repeated across the hafts on mid violet blue falls. Mid orange beards vie for attention. Stalks have 3 branches plus spur and 9-11 buds. A sure show winner. Medium Lavender blue standards. Falls are a rich deep salmon pink with Tangerine beards. Style arms are a nice salmon pink. Flowers a bit on the smaller side but pack a huge punch of color in the garden. Nice!

On the shorter side, GIRL LIKE YOU is a very ruffled and lightly laced rich salmon to orange self with a small white flash below fully saturated red orange beards. Nicely branched show stems are produced in profusion making quite a lovely garden show near the end of the season. Very rich and pretty!!

Stark white standards with a slight lavender wash in the center. Falls are a deep rich purple with white lines and a white rim. Gold style crests show through between the standards providing a nice contrast. Orange red beards add to the effect. Very showy and a garden visitor favorite. Strong growth and good stems add to the appeal.

IGNITE THE LIGHT (T. Johnson ’21)

It has been hard for me to capture the beauty of this one in a photo. Very light yellow standards are heavily flushed deep golden yellow at the base and in the center transitioning to veining at the edge. Falls are a rich reddish brown with a lemon yellow and white blended band. A clump of this blooming in the full sun is spectacular. An excellent garden iris that is well branched, budded and floriferous.

It’s much more fun to be a little wild and crazy and a bit mixed up. This broken color type will liven up your garden. Pale buff pink standards are randomly splashed mid lilac. Mid peach style crests are streaked lilac. Mid buff peach falls are randomly streaked from dark purple to light red purple. Hafts can be mid pink to butter. Each flower is different. Strong growth provides stalks with 2-3 branches and 7-9 buds. If you check out the second photo the color is not quite right but it shows the form so much better.

What a crazy mixed up potpourri of color and pattern. Insaniac carries on with another variation of ‘Wild Angel’ type patterning. Flowers are fuller and more ruffled. The addition of gold edges on standards and styles makes a lovely accent. A clump of Insaniac will be a sure showstopper in your garden.

Many lovely BBs are coming from tetraploid MTB, SDB and IB breeding and this is one with exceptional quality. Ruffled, classically formed blooms are rose mulberry bitone with buff area around tangerine beards. Strong show stalks have 3 branches plus 2 spurs with 12-14 buds. A must have for showing or in the garden.

Stark white with deep inky blue violet fall band. This is an iris that has to be seen to truly appreciate the sharpness and clarity of the pattern. Very nice wide overlapping ruffled form on great show stems. Moonlit Rendezvous is a prolific grower and bloomer. Makes a striking garden iris. Nice!!

He’s tall, dark and handsome and draws the eye of anyone walking by. Only the finest clothes will do for this Sharp Dressed Man. Standards are iridescent mid purple. Elegantly ruffled purple black falls have a velvety texture and slightly lighter rim. Only someone so confident could get by with such an outrageous orange tie. Show stalks with 3-4 branches and 10-12 buds help insure a superior garden performance. Robust, healthy growth. Colors are exceptionally clear.

Smooth black cherry standards over deeper black cherry falls with fully saturated tangerine orange beards. The clarity and smoothness of the color is very clean and crisp looking in the garden. Fantastic growth and show stems coming from the wonderful parent ‘Sharp Dressed Man’. Very striking and sharp looking for sure!!

Named after our little dog, Tula is a beauty that was labeled for introduction since its maiden bloom. Standards are an off white with light violet plicata dots and lemon flush throughout. Falls are interesting with white ground overlaid almost completely with deeper violet plicata dots. Adding to the interest are deep violet veins that extend from around the beard to petal edge. All of this is highlighted by very shocking medium lemon style arms that are very visible, creating a strong contrast. Three buds, good growth and bloom habits make this a garden favorite and a fun parent.

TB Midseason-Late 36” (91cm) Sweet fragrance. There is nothing like a well formed solid medium purple to violet iris. Dark Hour is a very strong grower with lots of beautiful show stems and a lovely sweet perfume. The blue beard really adds to the attraction. A quality garden iris!!
