PERFECT IN EVERY WAY (Thomas Johnson ’26)
TB 38” (97cm) Early-midseason-late
Sweet fragrance Ooh la la, this one is a stunner. I am not usually overtaken by yellow and white as the pattern has been done before but…. I simply cannot get enough of this, the form is impeccable, the stems and buds are first rate, and the clumps are like heaven! The color is so clean and clear and applied in such a way that it makes me want to just pull up a chair and sit and stare at it all day long. It is a recessive, or glaciata, or is it? If you tear down the flower and look deep in the heart you will see the smallest of short purple lines. Whatever the classification, it is certainly gorgeous and highly recommended. PRETTY MUCH IT (Thomas Johnson ’26)
TB Midseason-late 38” (97cm)
Sweet fragrance Plicatas are such an interesting and fun group because of the variability that you can get. In loose terms one would describe this as a purple plicata but ‘Pretty Much It’ is so much more than that! Standards are white with a green flush up the midrib. Falls are pristine white with a narrow stitched violet edge and then a deeper violet wire rim. Hafts are touched deep red violet and there is a small violet dart below the beard. Even the beard is a strange blend of orange and white. Upon closer inspection and as the flower ages a bit the standards open slightly to show the gorgeous contrasting deep gold style crests from inside. The flowers are large and extremely wide and ruffled. Stems are tall, well branched and balanced and display the beauty of the pattern perfectly. Sdlg TO163B: Say It Right X Castle On The Hill

PUZZLE PIECE (Thomas Johnson ’26)
TB Early-midseason-late 37” (94cm)
Slight fragrance Iris have become such complex beings when it comes to patterns and application of color. Standards are pretty straight forward being a brilliant golden yellow. Falls are a bit more complex. There is a large and plush mahogany red spot in the center, but things get complicated in the band. There is a large wide band that circles the signal, but instead of it being one consistent color it starts outs as a light lavender and lemon blend at the haft and about half way down transitions to lemon and finally deep gold at the distil end. The standard color reflecting itself at the distil end of the fall draws the eye across the whole flower and creates a very pleasing presentation. Tall well branched and budded stems help it to complete on the show bench as well. Shockingly bright and beautiful. Sdlg TN50ZZ: Autumn Tease sib X Truth Or Dare

READY FOR DESSERT (Thomas Johnson ’26)
TB Midseason-late 36” (91cm)
Slight sweet fragrance Perhaps I think about food too much but I certainly think of dessert when I see this iris! It is the most yummy combination of colors combined with heavy ruffles and lace. Truly a stunning iris! Flesh pink standards are a deeper shade in the center. Falls are white with a very wide, ruffled and laced band. A touch of pink at the hafts on either side of the soft coral and white beards add perfectly to the elegance. A perennial favorite every year since its maiden bloom. Sdlg TO187L: Anti Hero sib

UNDERSTATEMENT (Thomas Johnson ’26)
TB Midseason-late 40” (101.5cm)
Slight sweet fragrance. Solid pink standards have a gold edge. Falls are complex for sure. The ground color is a medium lavender with a creamy white area below the beard. The ground is then overlaid with a deep violet wash that clears and becomes a soft lavender pink band with a violet wire rim. Really a unique and stunning color confection. Tall and stately stems with lots of buds make it take center stage for the second half of the bloom season. Sdlg. TN223ZZ: sibling to Most Unusual and Blizzard Warning

WATCH THAT SCENE (Thomas Johnson ’26)
TB Midseason-late 36” (91cm)
Light fragrance. Deep golden yellow standards rise above yellow ground falls overlaid with a deep mahogany red haft and striped edge. The yellow ground on the fall extends out between the mahogany to create a rayed effect. There is a large lavender area below the orange beard. Quite a busy and dramatic flower. Sdlg.
