Lemon yellow standards over red violet falls with lavender band and slight yellow wire rim. Short white lines radiate out on either side of the yellow orange beard. With its super nice ruffled form, we have used Dressed to the Nine’s heavily in hybridizing and is an exceptional parent for form and banded patterns in lots of different colors. There will be many intros from it in the future. Nice stems with good buds complete this quality iris.

Very light oyster pink standards with slight violet flush up the midrib. Falls are a rich, smooth and plush deep velvety purple black with narrow light lavender fall rim. Beards are a bronze color tipped violet. Wonderful strong growth with loads of buds on nice stems. Very floriferous and bold. This sweetly scented garden beauty makes a dramatic statement. Yes, ‘Extreme’ ruffles and ‘Extreme’ color made this a top contender for introduction from its first bloom. Peach blooms are heavily washed dark orange giving a seductive depth of color. Huge dark orange beards grab your eye as you approach. Strong growth. Three buds on stalks with one branch.

The color range of tetraploid MTBs keeps expanding at a fast pace. ‘Fairy King’ does its part to keep pushing it forward. White standards are washed butter and edged and veined darker. Mid yellow styles peer from between them. Dark red plum falls blend inward to dark red violet then to near black centers. Darker veins underlay the entire fall. Bountiful branching and buds insure a long bloom season.

'‘Famous’ is a minimal plicata that is wonderfully unique. Dark mahogany standards are lightly laced and rimmed mid tan. Cream styles have mid mahogany ridge and crest centers. Dark yellow throat and hafts of falls are plicata lined and sanded black mahogany. The lower 2/3rds of fall is dark mahogany black. Big bright beards are two-toned marigold to yellow. So far it has been a difficult parent.

Fine Romance has just enough blue in its makeup to appear visually a very clean and clear pink in the garden. Crinkled lace adorns each petal. Beards are soft coral with just a touch of lilac at their ends. SHOW STALKS AND GORGEOUS!! Vigorous growth.

A new era of brightly colored, wider and more ruffled tetraploid MTBs is emerging from mixed chromosome breeding. This parentage includes SDBs, IBs, tet MTBs, BBs and TBs. The SDB pollen parent, ‘April Fanfare’, can have 2 branches and 6 buds which helps make it an excellent tet MTB parent. This bright bicolor has unique peach styles and the pattern is pumila spot plicata. ‘FLIRTIN’ SKIRTS’ will make a memorable clump. Can be used in breeding in all median classes and TBs. I’m using it to hopefully produce pumila spot plics in TBs.

What a sight this monkey is with a wonderful luminata pattern. Standards are cream heavily washed mid khaki as are the styles. Falls have huge neon marigold beards surrounded by clear mid yellow throat and hafts giving way to white surrounding their tips. The falls lower half is washed/sanded mid brown and narrowly banded tan gold. What a sight! Very showy clumps. Excellent parent.

FRESH MORNING SHOWER (P. Black '21)

Let your nose delight in the freshness of a morning shower. Full formed and ruffled white blooms have standards widely banded with clean mid blue wash and darker stitching that is echoed in the mid blue styles. Falls have narrow light lilac rouged bands plic stitched darker. It declares the arrival of spring. Sturdy stalks have 4 branches plus a rebranch and spur creating 10-14 buds. There is a prominent spicy fragrance.

On the shorter side, GIRL LIKE YOU is a very ruffled and lightly laced rich salmon to orange self with a small white flash below fully saturated red orange beards. Heavily ruffled standards are brilliant sunshine yellow. Fall centers are light violet with wide, shaded center elipse of dark violet. Mid yellow gold haft’s color continues in pleated ruffles around falls. Beards are dark marigold. Expect about seven of these showy creations per stalk. Growth is strong, vigorous and clean. Makes a fantastic clump.

Brilliant canary yellow self with very deep, wide black cherry fall band. Beards are orange blending to yellow at the tip. A super strong contrast of colors between the yellow petals and the fall band. The flowers have full rounded and overlapping form on nicely branched stems. Very showy and notable in the garden.

Lemon yellow standards and edge on rich mahogany falls. Very rich smooth colors with nice ruffling on good stems carrying 8 to 9 buds. The ruffled falls show the petal reverse which is yellow adding to the effect. A very loud distinct color separation. Hear me Roar is a sib to Autumn Tease.
