You’ll be drawn again and again to this beautifully formed dark purple and white plicata. Bright white fall centers contrasted with purple black shaded plic bands draw your eye from any distractions. Unique dark purple beards are topped dark old gold. Well-branched stalks have 9-14 buds. Excellent growth. ‘Midnight Velvet’ creates a showy clump you won’t soon forget.

Brilliant golden yellow Standards. Falls are oxblood red with a wide mustard gold band and then a red wire edge. Extremely bright, almost shocking color combination! Very early to bloom on good stems with 8 buds. The falls remind me more of the spot pattern found in SDBs. FUN!!

MISTY SUNLIGHT (B. Blyth ‘19)

A superb show Iris with an average of 12 buds. The standards are lemon blending to lemon cream at midribs and at the base. Falls are creamy white with1/8” edge of lemon and the reverse of the falls is lemon yellow, showing well on the ruffles. Gold hafts. Beards are white tipped lemon. Fertile and a great parent. Stark white with deep inky blue violet fall band. This is an iris that has to be seen to truly appreciate the sharpness and clarity of the pattern. Very nice wide overlapping ruffled form on great show stems. Moonlit Rendezvous is a prolific grower and bloomer. Makes a striking garden iris. Nice!!

It may be small, but it has a big impact in a clump. It is another variation on a plicata theme reaching back to ‘Ghost Ship’. It is a luminata but not in the traditional TB style luminatas by having darker fall veins rather than lighter. The upper half of white standards are shaded mid slate purple with butter edges. Startling white styles peak out from between them. Falls have bright yellow throats blended to white then washed light to mid violet to edges. Chlorophyl lines streak alongside beards turning to mid violet and darkening to edges.

This exceptional iris is the result of compounding the genes of three extraordinary irises. Growth, vigor, stalks and buds are all top-notch as are its colorful flowers. Pale mauve pink standards centers blend to creamy tan and are etched with darker lines. Interior is pale lilac with darker center streak. Creamy tan styles have mid violet centers. Mid violet blue falls are paler around burnt orange beards and darker moving outward and narrowly banded light slate gray.
