The first of many introductions this year from the wonderful parent Dressed to the Nines. White standards with lemon centers becoming faint veining to petal edge. Falls are a deep rich red violet with a very light lavender band and then a gold edge. The beards are tangerine tipped violet. Very nice ruffled form on fantastic show stems. Break My Heart is a strong bloomer covering itself with flowers. Fabulous!!

There have been many Iris named in these colours, however here is one that puts on such a spectacular show, it calls for your attention. Standards are light violet, harmonizing with the richer colored red burgundy falls and beards of violet brown. Show stems both for flower quality and branching.

Standards mustard to lemon yellow. Falls are a rich medium mauve to violet with a lighter brownish fall edge. Hafts are touched yellow to brown on either side of russet beards. An iris that is a bit difficult to photograph. Super form and ruffles on well branched and budded show stalks. A favorite and tagged for introduction from its maiden bloom. Recommended!!

Very light oyster pink standards with slight violet flush up the midrib. Falls are a rich, smooth and plush deep velvety purple black with narrow light lavender fall rim. Beards are a bronze color tipped violet. Wonderful strong growth with loads of buds on nice stems. Very floriferous and bold. This sweetly scented garden beauty makes a dramatic statement. Very nice!!

Gold style crests show through between the standards providing a nice contrast. Orange red beards add to the effect. Very showy and a garden visitor favorite. Strong growth and good stems add to the appeal.

It has been hard for me to capture the beauty of this one in a photo. Very light yellow standards are heavily flushed deep golden yellow at the base and in the center transitioning to veining at the edge. Falls are a rich reddish brown with a lemon yellow and white blended band. A clump of this blooming in the full sun is spectacular. An excellent garden iris that is well branched, budded and floriferous.

I'M BACK sets a new standard for form and color in reblooming irises. Not only will you love seeing it the first time, you'll long for it to return, and it will. Standards are medium lilac with rich dusty rose centers and along upper margins which are covered with a fine network of burgundy veins. Styles are dusty rose with crests veined dark burgundy. Falls are velvety black-cherry with paler rims and adorned with dark root beer beards. Each flower is well-formed and elegantly ruffled.

Sweetly scented. Rich lavender blue standards. Falls are lavender blue with deeper lavender veins extending to a medium lavender diffused band then encircled by a light lavender wire rim. Gorgeous full ruffled form with great stems and buds. Looks mighty fine in a clump. A good strong grower and very floriferous.

White Standards almost completely overlaid with medium lavender plicating. A narrow gilt edge on the standards and style crests adds to the intrigue. Falls are Stark white with a very dark purple wide band and dotted center belly stripe. Beards are a rich tangerine. A strong grower with nice show stems carrying up to 11 buds. Very floriferous and gorgeous!

What a well-proportioned beauty ‘My Gal’ is! She’s a color that will turn heads. Full and tightly formed blooms are a rich medley of peach, pink, and apricot with big vivid orange beards to get everyone’s attention. 'Paper Tiger’ is a darker, richer version of ‘Fairy King’. Mid gold washed standards are lined and banded dark gold. Darkest red plum falls bend to purple and then to black centers, all underlaid with darker veins. Clumps are filled with show stalks.

Icy lavender blue standards have a salmon-peach central flush. Falls are a smooth and rich violet purple with a lighter lavender edge. Great stems, growth, buds, form and very floriferous making quite a statement. We like everything about this iris.

PORTLAND PINK (P. Black ‘15)

It was tagged for introduction from its maiden bloom. Saying it is unique is a vast understatement. It is the best formed of all the pink SDBs. Color has great depth and richness. Its one flaw is some flowers have a 4th standard. It is a big advancement in my project to create SDBs that bloom into TB season. It begins bloom in early TB season. How cool to have a SDB for a TB timed show. The cross that created it, an IB X IB, shouldn’t have been fertile but it did have viable seed. Even more amazing, ‘Portland Pink’ is fertile. It can be picky about its partner but can have anywhere from a few to normal numbers of seed and they germinate. Shorty, the pod parent, is from a pink tetraploid MTB seedling X my SDB, ‘Juicy Tidbit’. The pollen parent is a multi-branched & budded IB from a small flowered TB, ‘Inspired’ sib X my SDB, ‘Love Spell’. Growth is strong and increase rapid. Although it is from 2 IBs, it has never exceeded SDB height. What about using it in hybridizing? Go on, have your way with it. It is fertile with SDBs, IBs, tet MTBs, BBs and TBs. I haven’t tried MDBs. Expect wide variation in flower and plant size of seedlings.

Standards have a white ground overlaid solid deep gold in center becoming gold veining and finally a gold band at petal edge. Falls are a rich lavender to light red violet with a deep black cherry red thumbprint hafts and slight fall wash. Very pretty color combination and one that has been used a lot in hybridizing.

Apricot to salmon pink standards with a rosy lavender flush up the midrib. Falls are a rich magenta rose that is very clean with a nice ruffled edge and red orange beards. Wrap Her Up is a very clean bicolor and we think much prettier than the photo depicts. With very pretty show stems, Wrap Her Up makes a very elegant show near the end of the season.
