Peach pink Standards with lighter peach edge. Falls have a peach pink ground overlaid and washed with deeper lavender texture vein lines. The falls are then encircled with a lighter peach edge. The flowers are full formed and heavily ruffled and laced. Nicely branched stems. The flower can vary being more clean peach tones with lighter violet fall veins in warm sunny weather and showing more violet and more pronounced veining especially in the falls on cooler cloudy days. Check out both photos to see the difference. Either way it is very pretty and unique. Very different!

Coming out of my lined pattern breeding, THUNDERING APPLAUSE pushes the pattern a step further. We are finally getting wide ruffled and even slightly laced form. Creamy white standards are infused peach pink. Falls have a light lemon base that is overlaid with violet lines radiating from the heart of the flower and becoming more of a wash near the edge. Then the whole pattern is framed by a nice lemon-yellow band. Tangerine beards help to compliment the pattern. Super strong growth on floriferous clumps.

Light sweet fragrance. Medium orange standards blushed violet in the midrib. Falls have a creamy pink ground. There is a lighter area around and below the beard that becomes a band of purple dotting and then finally a gold edge. Brilliant tangerine beards top it off. Phew, what a wild and bright color combo!!

FLIRTY TEASE (Thomas Johnson ’22)

Sweet fragrance. A bit of a hard color combination to describe. Standards are a muted lavender violet lightening towards the edge and becoming a gold band and then a very light lavender edge. Falls are mostly a deep plush red-violet but with a deeper blue blended central belly stripe. The blue coloration also peeks through closer to the fall edge. The edge of the petal has a border of light flesh pink. The blue tipped beards also add a lot to the pattern. Wonderful large and ruffled flowers with exquisite form that keeps you coming back for another look. 8 buds are borne on nicely branched stems. Proving to be an excellent parent. The color does lighten with age but gracefully and with class.

Sweet fragrance. Icy white standards are infused light violet and pink at the midrib. Falls are lavender-blue violet with a lighter lavender edge. What brings life to Distant Shores is the pink in the base of the standards. It draws your eye in for a closer inspection of the frosted blue violet beard. Light sweet fragrance. Milky white standards are flushed light lemon in the center and at the petal edges. Falls are a rich lavender violet overlaid with a deep red violet spot that blends out to a light flesh pink edge. I have a bit of a soft spot for this sort of pattern and the application of the color is so good on Propensity. It doesn’t hurt that it has beautiful wide ruffled form on nice stems either. Sdlg. Light fragrance. White standards have a heavy peach pink washed center. Falls are Light orange with violet lines radiating out from below the beard. There is a wide orange band at the petal edge and within the band in the center is a large concentration of violet dots. Finally, we are starting to combine the dots and speckles pattern in a more controlled fashion instead of just random. It is also exciting to get some different colors going in the lined pattern.
