Border bearded irises are no longer sulky shrinking violets. ‘Boundless Berry’ is testament to that with its robust growth and showy clumps filled with bloom stalks. Compact, heavily ruffled flowers have light warm pink blooms. Fall hafts are rouged red plum and veined cream and shade lighter to narrow warm pink bands. Big, dark sienna beards are an interesting contrast. Show stalks have 3 branches and 7-9 buds. A moderate sweet fragrance is a plus.

I have been working on the blue bearded pink iris pattern for quite a few years. The biggest challenge is to keep the blue beard and get the petals a more true pink and less lavender pink. I am quite happy with Eyes of an Angel. Beautiful pink standards and edge on white falls with frosted powder blue beards. Wonderful wide and ruffled flowers on good stems. A knockout in person and a must for the lover of blue bearded pinks.

A delicious Iris with standards of icy pink flushed softest rose at midribs. The falls are light magenta with a ¼” well defined edge of the standard colour. Beards are lightly burnt tangerine. It has a light perfume. Huge blooms and well branched.

This exceptional iris is the result of compounding the genes of three extraordinary irises. Growth, vigor, stalks and buds are all top-notch as are its colorful flowers. Pale mauve pink standards centers blend to creamy tan and are etched with darker lines. Interior is pale lilac with darker center streak. Creamy tan styles have mid violet centers. Mid violet blue falls are paler around burnt orange beards and darker moving outward and narrowly banded light slate gray.

Apart from its excellent production of show stems, this lovely Iris should really charm the judges. The standards are white with a faint flush of soft pink at the midribs. The falls are wide and lightly ruffled and pastel peach over cream. Some light tan veining radiating from the hafts. Very fertile. Organza, its pod parent is proving to be a super parent.

A difficult blending of colors to describe. Standards are eggshell white with opal pink blushed centers. Falls are Lavender with an eggshell rim. What really sets this off is the beard. The beard is violet with orange hair tips becoming more solid dark blue to violet at the end. Gorgeous form on nice show stems compete the effect. We love this iris!!

UNTAMED GLORY (T. Johnson ’21)

Untamed Glory is a novelty iris. It very consistently has six falls and no standards, but instead of going completely flat they hold in the shape of a magnolia bloom. It is very reminiscent in form of a very old cultivar by Opal Brown called Pink Magnolia. A clump of Untamed Glory will completely cover itself with these large ruffled salmon pink flowers with irregular white broken color. Definitely an iris for those who love the novelties.

The complex heritage of ‘Portland Pink’ made this advancement in MTBs possible. Its form is compact and lightly ruffled. The clarity of subtle gradations of pink is stunning. Light baby ribbon pink standards encase warmer pink styles. Light warm salmon pink falls are adorned with heavily saturated mid coral pink beards. Definitely a top pick for those who love pink irises. Two branches and terminal normally have 6-7 buds.

Sweet fragrance. Lavender pink standards are deeper lavender in the center. Falls are a rich deep lavender blue with a heavier blue wash in the center. Beards are a burnt orange. Nice classically formed ruffled and lightly laced flowers are borne in abundance on well branched stems. Definitely for the lover of rich bicolored and laced iris.

Slight sweet fragrance. Lavender pink standards are flushed flesh pink in the center. Falls are a lighter lavender pink with a faint pink band. Big bushy blue beards with frosted white hair tips. Very nice classical form with good ruffles. Nicely branched stems with good bud count. One of the deepest blue beards we have achieved thus far on a pink iris. Now if we can just hold that beard color and turn the petals a flamingo pink!! There is always something to shoot for!!

Sweet fragrance. Blue pink standards are lighter on the edges. Falls are very light pink deepening towards the edge. Nice powder blue beards bring the whole combination to life. Tall, strong stems with show branching make Whisper My Name a constant contender on the show bench. A very beautiful and quality y iris.

Slight fragrance. There was never any doubt whether this iris would get introduced or not. The color is rich pink with orange tones and orange beards, but what makes Kissing Booth shine is its bloom habits. The last two years it bloomed heavily for an entire month. Absolutely spectacular in full flower that lasts and lasts. Lots of buds and good form on nicely branched stems. Lots of sequential stalks contribute to its long bloom season. Sdlg. Sweet fragrance. Clear pink standards. Falls are lavender pink with pink touched hafts and shrimp beards. Very large and full wide flowers on perfect show stems. Light lavender standards with pink centers. Falls are a rich purple reminiscent of the purple seen more often in siberian iris. The beards are large and a unique blending of colors that comes off as kind of a frosted root beer. The flowers are very wide, large and ruffled. Tall well branched stems add to the look. Light fragrance. Medium rose-lavender-pink standards and edge on lighter pink falls. There is a darker pink blush on either side of the beautiful saturated pink beards. Very nice ruffled and laced form on nice show stems. As You Wish is an easy grower and has been used heavily in hybridizing. This is an iris that we like a lot!! Sdlg. Sweet fragrance. Icy white standards are infused light violet and pink at the midrib. Falls are lavender-blue violet with a lighter lavender edge. What brings life to Distant Shores is the pink in the base of the standards. It draws your eye in for a closer inspection of the frosted blue violet beard.
