Peach pink standards. Falls are peach with a deep magenta fall wash. A peach center belly stripe starts below the beard and extends to the petal edge, then a wide lighter peach fall band with a pencil thin magenta edge, and tangerine beards complete the picture. Large round and full formed flowers make quite a statement from a distance as well as up close.

One of the first TB iris to flower and a good splash of color to kick off the season. Cream Standards are flushed heavily with peach in the center that transition to faint peach veins extending to the petal edges. Falls are a rich cantaloupe blending to more peach at the edges. Heavy bloom makes a very startling and showy clump.

What a crazy mixed up potpourri of color and pattern. Insaniac carries on with another variation of ‘Wild Angel’ type patterning. Flowers are fuller and more ruffled. The addition of gold edges on standards and styles makes a lovely accent. A clump of Insaniac will be a sure showstopper in your garden.

It is amazing to have three prime selections from the same cross. This luminata plicata has old gold standards washed darker brass overall and interesting green midribs. Mid gold styles lead to bold yellow luminata type fall spots that have light tan plicata markings becoming mid cinnamon toward edges. The lower half of fall is dark mahogany with a gilt gold rim. The big burnt orange beards will make you go ‘Wow Gee Whiz’. Great from a distance or up close. Strong growth.

Apricot to salmon pink standards with a rosy lavender flush up the midrib. Falls are a rich magenta rose that is very clean with a nice ruffled edge and red orange beards. Wrap Her Up is a very clean bicolor and we think much prettier than the photo depicts. With very pretty show stems, Wrap Her Up makes a very elegant show near the end of the season.

Sweet fragrance. Light gold standards are infused deeper gold and violet up the midrib. Falls are a wide and ruffled deep plush burgundy to near black. Nicely branched show stems with good buds make it a show bench contender. The double beard in the photo is an anomaly and does not happen as a regular occurrence. Sweet fragrance. Pink standards are dotted light purple. Falls are white with a violet band and dart below beard. The beard is white with orange and violet tips. The large super wide and ruffled flowers are gorgeous. The combination of the elegant form and the of the pastel colors makes you want to hug the flower. So warm and inviting and one we like a lot. Light fragrance. Pure white Standards. Falls are icy blue white with a sky-blue diffused rim. Beards are a screaming yellow-orange. The flowers on Super Sized are humungous and extremely wide creating an amazing display! Nicely branched show stems and the large looping ruffles make this a knockout when in full bloom. Slight sweet fragrance Interestingly, this cross had about 1/3 broken colored seedlings. I don’t know where it comes from. Ecru standards have light old gold centers turning to lines and then heavier stitched borders. Random rosy wine splashes further decorate them. Crests of dark gold styles are striped red-brown. White falls are heavily washed and mottled dark brown. Random streaks and flecks of white make it a bit whimsical. Multi-layered dark brown and old gold beards terminate in small black aril signals. Pronounced sweet fragrance Some seedlings are destined for introduction from the moment they open. This is one. It remains a favorite. White standards have light yellow centers changing to veining moving outward. Mid yellow styles echo the standards. Upper two-thirds of white falls are covered with heavy closely spaced dark red-brown veins and mottling. A white stripe bisects them. Neat half and half beards are mid gold ending in white. Sweet fragrance. This is one of the first broken color plicatas. Subsequent generations indicate it is an inheritable trait, so let the breeding begin. Nothing in the parentage indicates the possibility of broken color. About 1/3 of the seedlings from this cross were plicatas, about 1/3 were selfs, and about 1/3 were broken color plicatas. Well-branched stalks have 2 branches and a spur producing 7-9 blooms. Vigorous growth provides quick clumps. Intriguing to see each flower marked differently. Sdlg. Sweet fragrance. This taller sibling of ‘Make Up Your Mind’ is a very handsome traditional plicata in a lovely cornflower blue shade. It adds one more branch and a complement of 9-10 buds on show stalks. It too is a strong clean grower. Standards are a near solid cornflower blue with a buff wire edge. Sweet fragrance. Amply ruffled flowers are displayed on superbly branched show stalks. Strong growing, disease resistant foliage makes Ripples In Time a good landscape plant. Three branches and a spur provide 10-11 buds. Its lovely pastel color is a perfect foil for darker colors. Standards are lemon with gold centers. Sweet fragrance. ‘Me And My Shadow’ has been an excellent parent. I am excited about the possibilities of using Never Never Land in plicata breeding since it is half plicata. Its vivid red-orange beards will be a wonderful bold addition when transferred to plicatas. Superior garden traits make it a great garden subject. Standards are light blue with a tan wire rim. This kitty looks more like it is ready to go partying rather than cozy up at home. Falls on light pink flowers with mid pink styles have mid red-purple lined and sanded hafts and center stripes. Beards are flaming neon coral pink. Makes a joyful clump. Another interesting parentage.
