Sweet fragrance. This rich colored Iris makes a spectacular show in the garden. Standards and style arms are a rich burgundy. Falls are richer burgundy than the standards and there is an overlay of burgundy black veining over the complete fall. Good branching.

HONOR ROLL (Thomas Johnson ’22)

Sweet fragrance. Honor Roll is the fourth sister in this cross to be introduced and it has been used heavily in my hybridizing program. Palest cream standards are veined and infused light lemon and deep gold at the base. Falls are a very deep plush burgundy with a wide light lavender band that blends into a light yellow edge. Heavily ruffled parts of the petal backs show and add to the effect with multiple layers of color. Nice stems with good branching and bud count make it a winner. A very beautiful iris and a favorite for sure. Check out all the pictures of Honor Roll as the flower ages through the days the yellow pigments become more creamy white. Gorgeous either way, we love this iris and we think you will too.

Sweet fragrance. Blue pink standards are lighter on the edges. Falls are very light pink deepening towards the edge. Nice powder blue beards bring the whole combination to life. Tall, strong stems with show branching make Whisper My Name a constant contender on the show bench. A very beautiful and quality y iris.

FOLLOW MY LEAD (T. Johnson ’23)

Sweet fragrance. Orange Standards are a bit lighter and with some gold influence at the edges. Falls are Yellow-orange with a white spot below the brilliant tangerine-red beard. A deep rose band edges the fall. Great buds and branching and a strong grower, Follow my Lead has also proven itself to be a good parent. Sdlg. TK32B: Sister to Just Curious.

GALA EVENT (T. Johnson ’23)

Sweet fragrance. Golden orange standards tower over deep old rose falls with a large central blue violet wash. Hafts are touched gold on either side of burnt orange beards. LOVE AND LIGHT (T. Johnson ’23)

Sweetly scented. Light to medium pink standards. Falls are cream with a pink blended overlay and with a medium lilac band. Large flowers with wide overlapping form and pleated ruffles put on a dazzling display. Absolutely impressive in clump! Nice stems and branching as well. Sdlg. Sweet fragrance. Lavender blue standards with a yellowish green veined network in the center. Falls are an intensely deep velvety black purple with a white sunburst. A wide deep purple belly stripe runs from the beard to the purple band. This is one spectacular iris. Great form, buds, branching and growth, and show stalks always. Tenacity has been marked as an introduction since its maiden bloom. She is also proving to be a very good parent. Sdlg. Light fragrance. Light lavender to white standards with slightly darker lavender stitching and dotting. Falls are white with a violet dotted edge. There is a narrow violet belly stripe below the beard. The beard is quite intricate with a white base and then purple and finally orange hair tips. This one is a bit hard to describe. Standards are a lovely blended lavender with medium burnt orange centers transitioning to orange veins as they move toward the edge. Falls are a complex blend of colors that appear as a deep burnt orange to red creating a very lovely and distinctive color. Great branching and stems carry well-formed flowers that are a true delight. Coming from the beautifully colored and formed Shockaholic. Challenge Accepted is a nice advancement in this color pattern.

Light buff pink standards are flushed deep pink in the centers. Falls are cream in the center with deep peach pink hafts and a pink and cream blended band. Tall and stately stems with nice branching and bud count create a beautiful display early in the season. Great parentage also makes Eternal Dawn a fun parent for gorgeous pastels.

Brilliant golden yellow standards are echoed in the yellow hafts surrounding the orange beard on violet blue falls with a ruffled darker band. Super form, branching and bud count, and a favorite. Goddess Of The Rainbow received an EC in 2024 and won Best Seedling of the 2024 OTIS Show.

What can we say about this one? Contrast certainly comes to mind! Deep blue purple standards sit atop cinnamon brown falls. Tall stems with lightly ruffled flowers have carrying power out the kazoo! Holy cow, does this one make a statement. It is the iris that garden visitors most often tell me about; it seems to imprint! Certainly unique, and won’t be mistaken for anything else! Done Deal is one of those iris that has it all: great form, branching, bud count, and vigor. Standards are a pearl white with pink and light salmon blended centers. Falls are a rich lavender with a deep red violet signal around the beard, which becomes a deeper lavender wash throughout the mid-section. I had a dream many years ago to take that wonderful burnt orange color on the iris ‘Shockaholic’ and put it on a plant that had wider branching and a better stem, thus the name of this lovely result, Mission Accomplished. I am very happy with this one. The standards are light blue lavender with a deep orange spot in the center. Falls are rich burnt orange with a lighter edge. Beards are rich tangerine to red.
