It has been hard for me to capture the beauty of this one in a photo. Very light yellow standards are heavily flushed deep golden yellow at the base and in the center transitioning to veining at the edge. Falls are a rich reddish brown with a lemon yellow and white blended band. A clump of this blooming in the full sun is spectacular. An excellent garden iris that is well branched, budded and floriferous.

Cream and light lemon blended standards with violet flush in center. Falls Have a large deep purple-violet center spot with a very wide lavender edge. Nicely ruffled flowers are real show stoppers. One that has been much admired since its maiden bloom.

Medium lavender standards are darker at the edge. Falls are a deep lavender purple with a very wide and ruffled medium lavender band. Yellow orange beards are tipped lavender. If you are into the dramatic this certainly fits the bill. Spectacular in clump with an abundance of large ruffled flowers on show stems. Strike a Chord is a sister to Read My Mind and Break My Heart.

HONOR ROLL (Thomas Johnson ’22)

Sweet fragrance. Honor Roll is the fourth sister in this cross to be introduced and it has been used heavily in my hybridizing program. Palest cream standards are veined and infused light lemon and deep gold at the base. Falls are a very deep plush burgundy with a wide light lavender band that blends into a light yellow edge. Heavily ruffled parts of the petal backs show and add to the effect with multiple layers of color. Nice stems with good branching and bud count make it a winner. A very beautiful iris and a favorite for sure. Check out all the pictures of Honor Roll as the flower ages through the days the yellow pigments become more creamy white. Gorgeous either way, we love this iris and we think you will too.

Sweet fragrance. Light lavender violet standards are banded in cream with faint gold veining. Falls are a rich deep red violet with a light lavender edge. Beards are a nice tangerine. Space race is a super strong grower and a fast increaser creating full clumps very quickly. A color pattern that shows from clear across the field. Sdlg. Light fragrance. Standards have a white ground that is washed pink, with a deeper pink stitched band. Falls are pristine white with a wide raspberry to purple dotted band across the haft and precise dotted fall edge. Burnt orange beards are tipped purple and then white. A stunning iris! Standards are a very light creamy yellow with a deep golden yellow center. Falls are creamy white with a nice lavender to violet band. The hafts are also touched a bit with lemon. This strong grower has excellent form and stems with lots of buds. It has been used extensively in hybridizing and has proven to be a quality parent. A standout iris!

Standards are a medium yellow with a darker edge. Falls are a very light yellow with deep lemon yellow hafts. A wide ruffled deep maroon band frames the pattern. It is hard to capture the true grandeur of Boxing Ring in a photo. The flowers are very large and widely formed with great ruffles. It creates a very dramatic look in the garden. Much admired by garden visitors, it is a gorgeous iris that will not be overlooked.

This one is a bit hard to describe. Standards are a lovely blended lavender with medium burnt orange centers transitioning to orange veins as they move toward the edge. Falls are a complex blend of colors that appear as a deep burnt orange to red creating a very lovely and distinctive color. Great branching and stems carry well-formed flowers that are a true delight. Coming from the beautifully colored and formed Shockaholic. Challenge Accepted is a nice advancement in this color pattern.
