Very light lavender standards have a wide light yellow band. Lemon style arms peek through above the orange beard. Falls are cream with a violet central wash, a lemon band, and dotted hafts. A really strong grower and heavy bloomer, very different. Makes a dazzling display.

White standards have a green midrib. Falls are medium blue with yellow hafts and a white rim!! Add an intense orange beard to this and you have one wild and flashy iris. Super strong grower and bloomer.

TB Midseason-late 37” (94cm) Slight sweet fragrance.
One could call this a reverse pink amoena. Medium pink standards rise above cream falls with medium pink hafts. Loved One has lots of bubbly ruffles with good buds and branching. It is a very prolific grower and bloomer as well. A really nice eye-catching and clear pink.

Light lemon yellow standards have a slightly lavender blush in the center. Falls are cream with lemon hafts and a medium rosy pink band. On Arrival is a super strong grower and bloomer with nice form, buds and branching.

Stare Into My Eyes makes a significant advancement in the buds and branching of quarter arilbred irises. It is a big favorite. Strong stalks have two well-spaced branches plus spur and 7-8 buds. It is vigorous and as easy to grow as other bearded irises. White standards have light yellow centers blended to wide white bands shot with light yellow veins. Falls have big purple signals irregularly blended into wide light amethyst bands. Because of its later bloom, you’ll be able to take it to a show.

Large, oncocyclus type blooms have white standards with fine amethyst lined filigree overall. Mid maroon falls are finely filigreed with darker lines. Bold black signals compel you to have a close-up look. Stunning!

It is another of my late blooming, multiple budded and branched SDBs. The flowers are a miniaturized version of Bride’s Halo. White flowers have narrow light yellow bands. Show stalks have three branches and 8-9 buds. Unheard of for a SDB. From two of my favorite varieties.

These flowers are pink, pink and more pink. The clear pink is made possible by a white ground completely washed mid-light pink. Very round and ruffled blooms give as much viewing surface as possible for, what else, pink color.

This is another in my line of late blooming, multiple branched and budded SDBs. It is the beginning of an effort to put a contrasting fall spot into this line. Two toned grayed yellow blooms are carried on show stalks having two branches plus spur and 6-7 buds. Talk about a show iris!

Hold the presses. A riot is beginning. Chaos Monkeys are creating havoc. WOW! Impressive, big blindingly orange beards refuse to go unnoticed as they sit prominently on dark indigo blooms with light peach luminata patches and white style arms. Nothing else like it!

BLUEPRINT FOR SPRING (P. Black '25)
TB Midseason-late 36” (91.5cm) Slight sweet fragrance.
What makes this light blue bitone with falls veined darker mid-blue special? I think it is the best attempt so far to put a pink beard on a blue iris. It has been a challenge for many hybridizers. Its other special feature is the clumps filled with bloom stalks creating an overpowering display of color in the garden. To say it is floriferous is an understatement, and yet, there is plenty of increase left.
