Iris have become such complex beings when it comes to patterns and application of color. The standards are pretty straight forward, being a brilliant golden yellow, but the falls are a bit more complex. There is a large and plush mahogany red signal spot in the center, but things get complicated in the band. There is a large wide band that circles the signal, but instead of it being one consistent color, it starts out as a light lavender and lemon blend at the haft, about half way down transitions to lemon, and finally shows deep gold at the distal end. The standard color reflecting itself at the distal end of the fall draws the eye across the whole flower and creates a very pleasing presentation. Cream standards have a deep lemon center, and then lemon infusions throughout the edges. Falls are white with short violet lines and golden yellow hafts. Brilliant golden yellow standards rise above falls with a golden yellow center and a reddish violet overlay wash below the beard. The overlay becomes a deep reddish violet band, with a lighter rosy pink narrow edge. Lots going on in this flower for sure. Patterned iris like this one are so fun, in that the longer you look at them the more complex you realize the color scheme is. Standards have pink centers and a flesh pink and lavender blended band with faint darker pink veins. Falls are very light lavender pink with a deep reddish-violet central fall spot that becomes more of a wash as it moves out below the beard. Golden yellow standards have a greenish cast to them up the midrib. Falls are a full deep lavender blue-violet, with darker rosy hafts that are touched lemon and a reddish-brown band. Deep golden yellow standards rise above yellow ground falls overlaid with a deep mahogany red haft and striped edge. The yellow ground on the fall extends out between the mahogany to create a rayed effect. There is a large lavender area below the orange beard. Quite a busy and dramatic flower. Sdlg. Light lavender standards have a lighter area with lilac dotting in the center. Deep salmon pink style arms peek out from inside the standards, adding great contrast. Falls are white, with a deep plum purple band and light lavender edge. A deep plum center stripe extends from just below the red-orange beard to the plum band.
