‘Wild Streak’ is notable for its color saturation. Buff peach standards have rather large random irregular mid lilac segments. ‘Winter’s Smile’ is big and broad and smiling from ear to ear. Here’s another selection from the “beauty” cross. Plush warm white flowers have big looping ruffles. Standards have a greenish blush up midribs. Strongly flared falls are blushed palest gold over hafts. Warm white beards touched pale tan don’t detract from the classic sculp- tured form. Robust clean growth produces clumps filled with show stalks having 3 branches and 9-10 buds.

The complex heritage of ‘Portland Pink’ made this advancement in MTBs possible. Its form is compact and lightly ruffled. The clarity of subtle gradations of pink is stunning. Sweetly scented. We have been working on blue bearded pinks for quite some time. Continually working on getting the beard a more saturated blue. We really like YOU’RE THE ONE. Standards are a light lavender pink. Falls are a very light pink to almost white, deepening to a light pink rim. Beards are coral pink in the throat and frosted lavender at the end. Strong growth on nice show stems carrying 9 buds. Beautiful and elegant!!

Two things immediately come to mind when I think of this flower: the brilliant beard and the wonderful wide, round and ruffled form. It could be described as a rimmed broken color plicata. A very interesting mix of several patterns in one. I have used it heavily in breeding. Zig Zag is one of many iris to be introduced out of the fantastic parent Alaia.

Sweet fragrance. Egg shell to light lavender standards with a narrow buff-gold ruffled rim. Milk glass white falls have a deep violet plicata band. There is a heavy concentration of violet across the hafts that forms a solid violet dart below burnt orange beards. Contrasting medium salmon style arms and a slight blush of salmon on the hafts of the falls completes the effect. A super strong grower with lovely show stems and triple bud sockets from top to bottom yields 12 or more total buds.

Sweet fragrance. Yellow standards. Falls have a white ground with yellow hafts and wide band. Maroon lines radiate out across the hafts and below the beard forming a pattern. The cross that produced Curly Fries was made note only for color but form. Both parents are known to transmit a nice ruffled form to its children so it seemed like a perfect marriage. Really beautiful ruffles and a bright orange beard. Very cool looking.

No fragrance. We have loved this since its opening bloom. An amoena plicata. White standards. White styles, with blue behind the anthers. The falls are pure white with1/4” mid blue plicata stitched edge and deeper blue violet hafts, reaching across to the white based, tipped yellow beards. Gorgeous balanced ruffled form. Fertile.
