CAN’T BE DENIED (T. Johnson ’24)
TB Early-midseason 36” (91cm)
Sweet fragrance. Deep purple black standards sit atop black falls with a lighter rim and smoldering orange beards. This is a pattern we continue to work on for depth of color, ruffles, and lace. Can’t Be Denied is another step in that direction and is quite dramatic. The heavily ruffled and well-formed flowers are gorgeous. Sdlg. TM75A: Night Whispers X Own The Night

FOUND A LOVE (T. Johnson ’24)

MOMENT OF REFLECTION (T. Johnson ’24)
Midseason-late 38” (97cm)
Sweet fragrance. Ooh la la is what I say each year when this one starts to flower. Impeccable wide and ruffled form. Not really sure whether to call this a bicolor or a blend. Whatever it is, we like it very much, and we love to hybridize with it. Blended golden orange and salmon standards swirl elegantly above light rosy lavender falls with a peach wash, deeper at the hafts, and lighter as it moves down the petal. Oh, and did we mention it is ruffled? This was a very productive cross and has yielded many intros including last year’s Head Of The Class and Refined Elegance. Sdlg. MAKE UP YOUR MIND (Black ’24)
TB Early-midseason 33” (84cm)
Sweet fragrance. This is one of the first broken color plicatas. Subsequent generations indicate it is an inheritable trait, so let the breeding begin. Nothing in the parentage indicates the possibility of broken color. About 1/3 of the seedlings from this cross were plicatas, about 1/3 were selfs, and about 1/3 were broken color plicatas. Well-branched stalks have 2 branches and a spur producing 7-9 blooms. Vigorous growth provides quick clumps. Intriguing to see each flower marked differently. Sdlg. Falls have a white ground with cornflower dotting inside a more solid band, and then a complementary buff band. Sdlg. AA84X: Come And Dance X Starry Starry Night

COLORING BOOK (Black ’24)
TB Early-midseason 32” (81.5cm) Sweet fragrance. Could you possibly put more color on an iris? I’ve been looking forward to introducing this spectacular iris since its maiden bloom. You won’t mistake it for an
y other, and that uniqueness will attract the judges when show stalks are exhibited. Apricot standards over white falls with a wide mottled lilac inner band, then widely banded cinnamon apricot.
