Medium lemon and cream blended standards with a very light lavender line extending up the midrib. Falls are red purple in the center bending to a lavender band and then a gilt gold edge. Wonderful show stems carrying 9 buds complete the package. Strong garden appeal.

A hard iris to describe but here goes. Burnt orange to salmon blended Standards are shot violet in the center. Falls have a cream and salmon ground overlaid with a deep black cherry plicata bar across the hafts and band around edge. Burnt orange to brown beards. Strong well branched stems carry up to 11 buds. A very showy garden favorite! We like!!

Medium Lavender blue standards. Falls are a rich deep salmon pink with Tangerine beards. Style arms are a nice salmon pink. Flowers a bit on the smaller side but pack a huge punch of color in the garden. Nice!

Fine Romance has just enough blue in its makeup to appear visually a very clean and clear pink in the garden. Crinkled lace adorns each petal. Beards are soft coral with just a touch of lilac at their ends. SHOW STALKS AND GORGEOUS!! Vigorous growth.

A new era of brightly colored, wider and more ruffled tetraploid MTBs is emerging from mixed chromosome breeding. This parentage includes SDBs, IBs, tet MTBs, BBs and TBs. The SDB pollen parent, ‘April Fanfare’, can have 2 branches and 6 buds which helps make it an excellent tet MTB parent. This bright bicolor has unique peach styles and the pattern is pumila spot plicata. ‘FLIRTIN’ SKIRTS’ will make a memorable clump. Can be used in breeding in all median classes and TBs. I’m using it to hopefully produce pumila spot plics in TBs.

FLYING MONKEY (P. Black '21)

What a sight this monkey is with a wonderful luminata pattern. Standards are cream heavily washed mid khaki as are the styles. Falls have huge neon marigold beards surrounded by clear mid yellow throat and hafts giving way to white surrounding their tips. The falls lower half is washed/sanded mid brown and narrowly banded tan gold. What a sight! Very showy clumps. Excellent parent.

FRESH MORNING SHOWER (P. Black '21)

Let your nose delight in the freshness of a morning shower. Full formed and ruffled white blooms have standards widely banded with clean mid blue wash and darker stitching that is echoed in the mid blue styles. Falls have narrow light lilac rouged bands plic stitched darker. It declares the arrival of spring. Sturdy stalks have 4 branches plus a rebranch and spur creating 10-14 buds. There is a prominent spicy fragrance.

A delightful mix of colors. The standards are soft lilac with a blended 1/4” edge of buff pink and flush at the midribs. The falls are light burgundy, lightning at the beards and set off with a well-defined 1/4” edge of muted gold. Beards are soft old gold. Flowers are ruffled and wide and there are plenty of buds with some show stems. Just a slight perfume.

On the shorter side, GIRL LIKE YOU is a very ruffled and lightly laced rich salmon to orange self with a small white flash below fully saturated red orange beards. Nicely branched show stems are produced in profusion making quite a lovely garden show near the end of the season. Very rich and pretty!!

Salmon pink standards. Falls have an apricot pink ground with a deep violet plicata fall wash surrounded with a salmon pink band. Nicely formed flowers with three to four buds. Good Feeling presents itself very well with elegant and floriferous clumps.

GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE (T.Johnson ‘14)

Heavily ruffled standards are brilliant sunshine yellow. Fall centers are light violet with wide, shaded center elipse of dark violet. Mid yellow gold haft’s color continues in pleated ruffles around falls. Beards are dark marigold. Expect about seven of these showy creations per stalk. Growth is strong, vigorous and clean. Makes a fantastic clump.

Cream ground almost completely overlaid with pink and a little bit of violet dotting. Falls are stark white with a violet plicata band. Beards tangerine with red tips. A very clean and pretty bicolor plicata. Nice wide form and strong growth with show stems. Nice!!

Stark white standards with a slight lavender wash in the center. Falls are a deep rich purple with white lines and a white rim. Gold style crests show through between the standards providing a nice contrast. Orange red beards add to the effect. Very showy and a garden visitor favorite. Strong growth and good stems add to the appeal.

Imagine laying in a lush green meadow with the warmth of the sun lulling you into a ‘Happy Daydream’. These tightly formed mid yellow blooms have just enough ruffling to give them a bouncy lift. Darker gold texture veins descend the falls. Strong show stalks have 3 branches and spur providing 9-10 buds. Its strong spicy fragrance is a plus.
