Many lovely BBs are coming from tetraploid MTB, SDB and IB breeding and this is one with exceptional quality. Ruffled, classically formed blooms are rose mulberry bitone with buff area around tangerine beards. Strong show stalks have 3 branches plus 2 spurs with 12-14 buds. A must have for showing or in the garden.

You’ll be drawn again and again to this beautifully formed dark purple and white plicata. Bright white fall centers contrasted with purple black shaded plic bands draw your eye from any distractions. Unique dark purple beards are topped dark old gold. Well-branched stalks have 9-14 buds. Excellent growth. ‘Midnight Velvet’ creates a showy clump you won’t soon forget.

Brilliant golden yellow Standards. Falls are oxblood red with a wide mustard gold band and then a red wire edge. Extremely bright, almost shocking color combination! Very early to bloom on good stems with 8 buds. The falls remind me more of the spot pattern found in SDBs. FUN!!

A superb show Iris with an average of 12 buds. The standards are lemon blending to lemon cream at midribs and at the base. Falls are creamy white with1/8” edge of lemon and the reverse of the falls is lemon yellow, showing well on the ruffles. Gold hafts. Beards are white tipped lemon. Fertile and a great parent. This exceptional iris is the result of compounding the genes of three extraordinary irises. Growth, vigor, stalks and buds are all top-notch as are its colorful flowers. Pale mauve pink standards centers blend to creamy tan and are etched with darker lines. Interior is pale lilac with darker center streak. Creamy tan styles have mid violet centers. Mid violet blue falls are paler around burnt orange beards and darker moving outward and narrowly banded light slate gray.

Oh my is all I keep saying when I walk by this one and look at the beard. The standards are a bit twisted but the deep navy to near black beards are incredible. Strong growth and bloom with three buds per stem. Amazing!

Oh wow is exactly what I say whenever I see this. The picture says it best, it is all about the beards! The intensity of the blue beards is a bit variable from season to season but is always dramatic. 3 buds.

Here’s another in the expanding line of late blooming, multiple budded and branched SDBs. Classically formed flowers have smoky light violet to buff pink blended standards and light pink to violet styles. Mid violet blend falls have cream hafts with dark plum veins that extend downward. Dark orange beards make it even more outrageous. Three well-spaced branches have 7-9 buds.

If you need a bold spalsh of color in your garden, ‘Painted Love’ is the iris for you. Mid gold standards are blushed red violet. Wide blue violet falls have Indian red bands and hafts and are paler around deep marigold beards. Nine buds on well branched stalks add to its appeal. Reminds us of an updated version of the old classic ‘Syncopation’.

Sweet fragrance. Paloma Blanca is Spanish for white dove. Icy blue white standards and faint blended edge on white falls. Nice red orange beards are tipped blue white. Beautiful form with good lacing on the petal edges. Super clean grower with strong show stems carrying 8 buds. A very classy iris to close the season.
