Light sweet fragrance. The markings and color of this iris remind me of a fine Monet painting. Standards are bordered dark apricot diffusing to medium plum purple in the center. The dark apricot styles are tinted purple and are fringed. Falls have wide borders of plum purple that streaks into the medium apricot center. Slight musky fragrance You’ll return again and again to gaze upon this sultry siren. Full, classically formed flowers have smooth mid-dark garnet standards. Velvety black cherry falls are delicately edged in narrow paler ruffles. Glowing light yellow hafts are veined and sanded black cherry and adorned with smoldering burnt orange beards. Sweet fragrance. Very pretty shade of mauve to lavender standards, deeper in color at the base. Pretty buff pink style arms add a bit of subtle contrast. Falls are very light mauve to near white. Beards are a true lavender with white hair tips. This iris is from blue bearded pink breeding. I can visualize someday having a white with a large lavender beard. Sdlg. Sweet fragrance. Deep golden yellow standards, deeper in the center. Falls are a medium blue purple with a wide red haft bar that extends out below the beard and then blends into the blue purple. There is a buff yellow fall edge setting the stage for the wild beards. Beards are yellow with long horns or flounces in shades of purple. Out Of Character was given its name because it is not always consistent with its horns. Some years they are very consistent throughout; other years it is less so. Light fragrance. Creamy white standards have light orange centers with light lavender veins, becoming orange as they extend outwards to the petal’s edge. Falls are a medium orange with salmon tones blended in the center. We continue to work on the orange amoena type to improve the stems. Slight fragrance. If you have ever wondered what that iris is on the homepage of the website, well here it is. Pretty Rich likely will never win on the show bench, as the stems are a bit high branched and tighter budded. However, the flowers open sequentially, clumps have a long season of bloom, and the color is to die for. Very strong growth and beautiful healthy foliage add to its garden value. Sdlg. The name Wedding Planner was inspired by our friend Nancy Solano who sells cut iris stems for weddings.
