The complex heritage of ‘Portland Pink’ made this advancement in MTBs possible. Its form is compact and lightly ruffled. The clarity of subtle gradations of pink is stunning. Apricot to salmon pink standards with a rosy lavender flush up the midrib. Falls are a rich magenta rose that is very clean with a nice ruffled edge and red orange beards. Wrap Her Up is a very clean bicolor and we think much prettier than the photo depicts. With very pretty show stems, Wrap Her Up makes a very elegant show near the end of the season.

Your head spins round with the whirlwind of colors of this broken color type. White standards are randomly splashed light lilac and tan. Fall centers are white blended outward to mid yellow and narrowly edged white and then randomly streaked, splashed, veined and mottled varying shades of vibrant red plum. You won’t miss seeing these wildly colorful flowers. Three well-spaced branches produce 7-8 buds.

Sweet fragrance. Egg shell to light lavender standards with a narrow buff-gold ruffled rim. Milk glass white falls have a deep violet plicata band. There is a heavy concentration of violet across the hafts that forms a solid violet dart below burnt orange beards. Contrasting medium salmon style arms and a slight blush of salmon on the hafts of the falls completes the effect. A super strong grower with lovely show stems and triple bud sockets from top to bottom yields 12 or more total buds.

Sweet fragrance. A dark purple self, or bicolor with ruffles or lace, and a yellow beard has been a project of mine. Own The Night is headed in that direction. Medium purple standards sit atop plush deep purple falls with a light narrow edge. Mustard tipped beards set it off. Very nicely ruffled and formed with strong stems and ten buds. Marked as an introduction since maiden bloom. Flashy!!

Sweet fragrance. Canary yellow standards. Falls are light lavender blue below the beard becoming lighter towards the edge. The hafts are touched yellow and there is a light yellow band that surrounds the fall. You Can Jive produces quality show stems with 10 or more buds, grows with strong vigor, and blooms profusely. In fact it puts on such a show that I simply have to stop to admire it each day when it is in flower. Uniqueness can be determined not only by color or pattern but garden performance and this one certainly does that.

Sweet fragrance. White ground standards are almost completely overlaid gold. The midrib is flushed violet. Falls are white with a deep velvet red band. There is medium red violet dotted band inside the darker band. Nicely ruffled flowers on a very bright and pleasing color combination. A nice classically ruffled form completes the look. Sdlg. Sweet fragrance. Standards are lavender with pink veining and infusions in the center. Contrasting medium salmon pink style arms are quite noticeable. Light fragrance. The color of Secret Chord is hard to describe but here we go. Standards have a brassy gold base then they are washed and dotted mulberry in the center finally forming a brass band. Falls are creamy white with deep violet on either side of, (and forming a dart just below), the beard. There is a deep mulberry red fall band with purple violet dots inside the band. All in all it makes for a very startling color combo. Combine all that with wide heavily ruffled form and you have a grand garden iris. We have used Secret Chord heavily in our breeding program. Sweet fragrance. Pink standards are dotted light purple. Falls are white with a violet band and dart below beard. The beard is white with orange and violet tips. The large super wide and ruffled flowers are gorgeous. The combination of the elegant form and the of the pastel colors makes you want to hug the flower. So warm and inviting and one we like a lot. Sweet fragrance. Lavender blue standards with a yellowish green veined network in the center. Falls are an intensely deep velvety black purple with a white sunburst. A wide deep purple belly stripe runs from the beard to the purple band. This is one spectacular iris. Great form, buds, branching and growth, and show stalks always. Tenacity has been marked as an introduction since its maiden bloom. She is also proving to be a very good parent. Sdlg. Slight sweet fragrance. I have a bit of a love for orange amoenas and this one is no exception! Standards are cream with orange centers. Falls are a rich orange with deep red-orange beards. Lightly fragrant. More coral than pink, this self reminds me of the coral jewelry you can obtain in Hawaii. The color always stops me in the garden because of its intensity. The coral-pink is a little creamy around the beards. Beards are coral, lightening to peach at the upturned tip. Flowers are ruffled with slightly crimped edges. Slight fragrance. This iris has fascinated me since its maiden bloom. The pattern is different especially for a horned variety. Standards and styles are a medium coral pink. Flaring falls are like a zebra. Is it medium orchid violet with pink veins or deep pink with medium orchid violet veins? The falls also have a defined narrow band of pink-orchid.
