Sweet fragrance. ‘Me And My Shadow’ has been an excellent parent. I am excited about the possibilities of using Never Never Land in plicata breeding since it is half plicata. Its vivid red-orange beards will be a wonderful bold addition when transferred to plicatas. Superior garden traits make it a great garden subject. Standards are light blue with a tan wire rim. Standards are very light yellow to white with a darker edge. Falls have a large yellow central sunburst area with a white flash below the beard. There is a very wide deep mahogany red band. The flowers are extremely wide and ruffled with a wild pattern.

Buff pink standards are heavily infused with lavender up the midrib. Falls are a rich and smooth lavender violet with a lighter wash extending down on either side of the beard. Lost In Thought has a very nicely formed flower on great stems. Such a clean and pleasing color and presentation.

If you like earth tones, Rum And Raisin is for you. Standards are mid-light caramel tan. Multiple rings of color in the falls start with mid gold hafts with light tan plicata marks, then to a wide mid raisin band blended to mid gold bands. Muted mid marigold beards are a subtle contrast. YUM!

Here it is, the one many of you have been asking about since I first posted its picture on FB. I’m also in love with it. It is one of those irises where everything works together to make a stunning creation. Light yellow standard centers blend to wide stark white bands. Irregularly edged big brown-black fall spots transition to wide white bands, including a white dart up their distal center. A nest of white darts encircles white beards. OH MY!

An abundance of ruffles, pleasing color contrasts, and all-around great garden performance make Beyond Fabulous a prime candidate for your garden. Light grayed cantaloupe centers blend to very wide pale icy blue-white bands. Dark blended dark purple falls have white hafts heavily lined and sanded dark maroon and are finished with medium wide icy white streaked bands. Two-toned beards are mid marigold, ending in light violet. Three branches provide 8-9 buds. Strong growth.

The name kind of tells you the story. It starts flowering with the midseason varieties, and continues through until the very end of the iris bloom season. Very rich pink standards repeat themselves in a soft band on white falls. Big showy powder blue beards certainly add a touch of class. Very nice form with good bud count and stems. HEAVEN’S ANGEL (Thomas Johnson ’26)

“Wow” is what I say whenever I see this one! The form is absolute perfection. Add a warm color confection to the large, wide, and heavily ruffled flowers, and you have a winner! Standards are warm, clear medium pink, with a cream edge. Falls are the lightest pink to near white, with a stunning lavender band. Beards are near white, so as to not distract from the whole package. Nicely branched and budded stems round it out as a must have. This is one I have been waiting to introduce since its maiden bloom. Mid pink standards are washed light mauve. Delicately ruffled palest pink tinted falls have narrow mid violet-blue plicata banding. Its dark orange beard ends in a near black dart. Named for our dearly departed friend Emma Cook, since the pattern of this iris was named after her. Standards are snow white; styles are tinted ice blue white, with yellow at the base of the standards. The snow white falls are banded medium purple, with a lighter watermark between the purple and the white. Beards are bright full yellow. Seven buds on strong stems.
