Rich, dramatic, and luxuriously ruffled, American Adventure makes a bold statement in the spring garden. The deep inky purple plicata markings over the muted white center of the standards contrast with the chalky white falls, which have a light purple fancy plicata wash that deepens to near black edges. Blooms are heavily textured and graced with artful rippling. Vigorous growth produces show stalks with 3 branches plus spur and branch spur, giving a superb 10-11 buds. This ride gives striking, high-contrast colors with exceptional pattern and texture. Standards rise in softly ruffled layers of warm rosy mauve delicately plicata-stitched mid grayed mauve. Broad falls open creamy white, dramatically etched and feathered in deep grape-purple, concentrating along the margins and radiating inward in fine lines for a bold, artistic effect. LUCKY TICKET (Thomas Johnson ’26)

Lucky Ticket is nearly a pure orange amoena, and it shows as such in the field. It is only on closer inspection that one notices the pink flush up the standards. Lucky Ticket is a healthy and vigorous grower that covers itself with a multitude of tall, well branched and budded stems. Quite a stunning iris. Sdlg. TO216D: Had A Plan sibling

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED (Thomas Johnson ’26)

I had a dream many years ago to take that wonderful burnt orange color on the iris ‘Shockaholic’ and put it on a plant that had wider branching and a better stem, thus the name of this lovely result, Mission Accomplished. I am very happy with this one. The standards are light blue lavender with a deep orange spot in the center. Falls are rich burnt orange with a lighter edge. Beards are rich tangerine to red. The icing on the cake is the tall, well branched and budded stems. Mission Accomplished also inherited its great vigor from ‘Shockaholic’. Sdlg. TN157ZZ: Big Flirt sibling X Shockaholic

Icy blue white standards have lemon bases and a gold halo. Falls are white with a blue band and lemon hafts. Beards are more yellow than orange, giving the flower brightness and light. Best of all are the plant habits. Vigorous plants cover themselves with an abundance of tall, well-branched stems, creating an amazing floral display. RIVER VEIN (Thomas Johnson ’26)

Standards are very light lavender white, with golden violet veining that becomes more prominent in the gold band. Falls are very deep velvety purple, with a strong white ground displaying the sunburst veining pattern emanating out from around and below the gold orange beard. River Vein is an early variety that puts on a fantastic show at the beginning of the bloom season. Show stems, vigorous plants, and plenty of buds are the norm. Sdlg.
