A super clean and sharp pattern really makes PHOTO SHOOT stand out with its pristine white ground and precise blue to violet dotting around both the standards and falls. He’s tall, dark and handsome and draws the eye of anyone walking by. Only the finest clothes will do for this Sharp Dressed Man. Standards are iridescent mid purple. Elegantly ruffled purple black falls have a velvety texture and slightly lighter rim. Only someone so confident could get by with such an outrageous orange tie. Show stalks with 3-4 branches and 10-12 buds help insure a superior garden performance. Robust, healthy growth. Colors are exceptionally clear.

Another iris with a very complex color pattern. White standards are heavily infused yellow in the center. Falls have deep lemon hafts then a white area below the beard which transitions into a lavender wash and finally a wide blended rust and purple blended band with a darker wire rim. It is a pretty wild color pattern and is very distinctive in the garden. Tall well branched stalks assure that it won’t be overlooked.

What is commonly referred to as a “fancy” or luminata plicata. Standards are deep purple falls have a light lavender blue ground washed with deep purple becoming a solid purple black band. Beards are white tipped blue. Nicely ruffled with good branching and buds. Lovely!!

Sweet fragrance. Light yellow standards with a very narrow darker plicata stitched edge. Falls are white with a narrow purple stitched edge and short purple lines on either side of fuzzy mustard beards. Coming from parents carrying the plicata gene but not plicata themselves adds a bit more genetic diversity to the pattern. A nice clean pattern that is proving to be a garden favorite. Good growth and heavy substance flowers on strong stems carrying up to 10 buds.

If you are into the dramatic this certainly fits the bill. Spectacular in clump with an abundance of large ruffled flowers on show stems. Slight fragrance. Rich butter yellow standards. Falls have a light creamy yellow base that is a near solid patch in center becoming a lined and rayed pattern that is overlaid mid to deep violet, then the petals are etched light yellow with a purple wire rim. Nicely ruffled and pleated flowers are extremely bright and showy. Quite a unique application of color and pattern. Lovely show stems and good bud count assure it to be a contender on the show bench. A favorite since its maiden bloom.

TB Midseason-Late 36” (91cm) Sweet fragrance. There is nothing like a well formed solid medium purple to violet iris. Dark Hour is a very strong grower with lots of beautiful show stems and a lovely sweet perfume. The blue beard really adds to the attraction. A quality garden iris!!

Sweet fragrance. Stately and bold probably best describes Garden Prince. Classic form on this lovely lavender-blue-purple. The hafts and style crests are touched chocolate. The fall is also bordered in a deeper violet edge. Orange beards tipped blue complete the look. Very nicely branched stems and with good bud count. An intriguing iris and one that always drew me for a closer look when walking through the seedlings.

Sweet fragrance. A dark purple self, or bicolor with ruffles or lace, and a yellow beard has been a project of mine. Own The Night is headed in that direction. Medium purple standards sit atop plush deep purple falls with a light narrow edge. Mustard tipped beards set it off. Very nicely ruffled and formed with strong stems and ten buds. Marked as an introduction since maiden bloom. Flashy!!
