Musky fragrance. Standards have lilac blue centers that are bordered in reddish violet plicata dotting. Falls have a light-yellow ground that is overlaid with light red around beard, then the ground color becomes a dark yellow that is overlaid with a dark red wash to the petal edge. Slight sweet fragrance As far as I know, this is the first variegated foliage SDB to be introduced. I’ve bloomed others but none good enough to introduce. ‘Futuristic’ had an interesting beginning. Bloom the first year was a mix of gray-white flowers, grayed pink flowers and some broken colored of gray and pink. Since then, most have transitioned to light gray with a light tan haft veined darker slate tan and narrowly bordered slate violet. There are very subtle light tan broken color segments. Mid old gold beards give a little life to these more somber colors. ‘Futuristic’ is fertile and can produce variegated foliage and broken color flowers but progress is slow. Sdlg. Pronounced sweet fragrance It is all about color for this little guy. Vivid mid yellow standards and styles beam above light buff falls with hafts heavily plic lined and sanded mid wine as well as narrow plic bands and darts at ends of bright orange beards. Slight sweet fragrance Interestingly, this cross had about 1/3 broken colored seedlings. I don’t know where it comes from. Ecru standards have light old gold centers turning to lines and then heavier stitched borders. Random rosy wine splashes further decorate them. Crests of dark gold styles are striped red-brown. White falls are heavily washed and mottled dark brown. Random streaks and flecks of white make it a bit whimsical. Multi-layered dark brown and old gold beards terminate in small black aril signals. Sweet fragrance. This cross produced a very nice group of plicata patterned seedlings in several different colors and shades. Feuding Fiddles has near solid raspberry standards and band on creamy yellow falls. As with all of the sisters in the cross the form is lovely and clumps cover themselves in bloom. Sdlg. White standards have a touch of lemon at the base. Falls are maroon to red with a white rim, and a light yellow area around the beard. The flowers are heavily ruffled. A TB that is a little on the shorter side, for the front of the border, and certainly one for those who love ruffles.

Pink with a wide golden yellow border on the standards, falls and even style arms. There is also a slight lemon blush at the hafts. A really beautiful color combination that is so pleasing to the eye. Stunning!

Sweet fragrance Very light lemon standards with a violet flush at the base sit atop a very complex patterned fall. Falls are best described as a lavender base color that is then overlaid with a deep violet brindled wash, then bordered in a buff pink band. Beards are a very weird brown to black. The whole package is quite dramatic and intriguing that always draws me in from across the garden for a closer look. Slight fragrance named for the truly breathtaking waterfalls that sit on the border of Argentina with Brazil and Paraguay. Medium royal purple standards are wrapped in a wide near white band. Falls are Medium royal purple with a very large light pink to white luminata patch and wide lavender band.
