The color can be quite different with lighting, different days or even different years. Generally, the more overcast and cooler that it is the darker the color. Light fragrance. Standards have a white ground that is washed pink, with a deeper pink stitched band. Falls are pristine white with a wide raspberry to purple dotted band across the haft and precise dotted fall edge. Burnt orange beards are tipped purple and then white. A stunning iris! Deep golden yellow standards have a wide light yellow band. Falls are a very smooth lavender blue. The petals are so ruffled that the backs of the falls show their yellow color, giving the effect of a yellow band. Exquisitely formed and ruffled flowers make for a dreamy combination. A very beautiful flower for the late season.

Sweet fragrance Standards are a very complex color. Centers are a deep rosy lavender then becoming medium lavender and finally a yellow buff band. Falls are a rich mustard yellow with a lighter wash from below the beard to the deep mustard edge. Sweet fragrance For many years I have worked with plicatas that are the result of outcrosses to bicolors to increase vigor and bring more diversity in color and pattern. Future Dreams is named as such because of the wide-ranging breeding potential in this pattern. Standards are deep lavender purple with darker maroon veining. Falls are white with a deep maroon haft and band. If that is not enough upon closer inspection you will notice broken color within the band. A totally unique and distinctive color and pattern variation in plicatas. Flowers are well formed and carried on strong show stems with lots of buds. ‘Future Dreams’ has a good pedigree and once again shows the importance of ‘Tenacity’ as a parent both for quality and diversity. Slight fragrance ‘Here I am’ was planted at the end of a row this past season and it put on an amazing show. Perfectly formed flowers are held on tall well branched show stems. This iris is an exhibitor’s dream, it will win on the show bench and bloom for a long period in the garden. A really nice solid iris!

Pronounced sweet fragrance For those wanting a SDB to enter in a typical TB show, here is another one of my multiple branched and budded, late blooming SDBs that fits the bill. Light rose infuses up midribs into mid lilac standards. Falls are mid red-violet blending lighter to their edge. Big orange beards are sandwiched between white hafts veined dark plum.
