Sweet fragrance. Standards have golden yellow centers and icy blue-white edges. Falls are golden yellow with a white flash that extends from just below the beard and blends into a gold band near the petal edge. House Of Light is a very vigorous grower and is always one of the very first to start blooming. Strong show stems with ample buds make it an early season showstopper. A nice iris to kickstart the TB season.

Sweet fragrance. Icy white standards are heavily infused deep yellow in the center. Falls have a large deep yellow flash around and below the beard. Below the yellow flash is a blue wash that becomes red violet before forming a lavender blue band. A very beautiful and colorful combination. An easy and free flowering variety with good strong show stems carrying 9 buds. Nicely ruffled and very widely formed flowers. Large brilliant orange beards add to the display.

Sweet fragrance. Light yellow standards sit atop clean orchid blue falls. There is a lighter orchid wash area below the yellow-orange beard. Great stems with nice branching and bud count. The form is wide and expansive with nice ruffles. The photo shows what the flower looks like after it has been fully open for a day. The color starts out darker and transforms to the photo color. A very clean and pretty bicolor.

Sweet fragrance. Canary yellow standards. Falls are light lavender blue below the beard becoming lighter towards the edge. The hafts are touched yellow and there is a light yellow band that surrounds the fall. You Can Jive produces quality show stems with 10 or more buds, grows with strong vigor, and blooms profusely. In fact it puts on such a show that I simply have to stop to admire it each day when it is in flower. Uniqueness can be determined not only by color or pattern but garden performance and this one certainly does that.

Slight musky fragrance SDB plicatas continue to evolve. ‘Contemplate’ brings reverse yellow plicatas into being. Butter standards have wide dark khaki plicata bands. White falls have plicata bands of mid violet and narrowly banded mid khaki. Unusual light blue luminata type patch on each side of beards. Can be used to create reverse bi-color plicatas.

Pronounced sweet fragrance. Be careful this intriguing character doesn’t sneak up on you. Swirling mid to light slate blue standards are flushed darker gray violet up midribs. Ruffled mustard yellow falls have paler centers and are veined darker gold. Show stalks with 3 branches and spur have 8-10 buds which is characteristic of both parents. Robust growth ensures this gator will be back year after year.

Slight sweet fragrance I’ve thought for a while it was time for an update of the older, ‘Sand and Sea’. My ideal goal is yellow standards and band on blue falls. ‘Time Capsule’ is a notable step toward that goal. Dark red-violet standards base blend to gray then brassy gold then to tan margins. Pale blue falls are narrowly banded light yellow. Distinctive mid blue beards are tipped from tan throats to white ends. Compact flowers are lightly ruffled and laced. Three branches present 7-8 flowers.

Sweet fragrance. White ground standards are heavily overlaid deep blue purple with a deep plum to near black band. Falls are white with an inner band of deep blue purple dots and a more solid outer band of deep plum. The beard is an unusual blend with the hairs being blue purple at the base then white and finally yellow at the tips creating quite a complex treat. Evening Stroll has finally broken the link between shorter stature and lower bud count in the deep purple-black plicata lines. Seven to nine buds on tall well branched stalks are the norm. Sdlg. Light fragrance. Pure white Standards. Falls are icy blue white with a sky-blue diffused rim. Beards are a screaming yellow-orange. The flowers on Super Sized are humungous and extremely wide creating an amazing display! Nicely branched show stems and the large looping ruffles make this a knockout when in full bloom. Slight sweet fragrance. Cream standards are widely and precisely edged in red veining with yellow tints. Falls are a very deep blue violet with a central white sunburst. Violet lines run through the sunburst from and around the beard. Finally, there is a wide deep lemon line that extends below the beard to the dark violet band. A very large full round and ruffled form adds to the drama. Shorter in stature but with strong stems. There is a lot going on here but guaranteed to not be missed in the garden. Sdlg. Sweet fragrance. Lavender blue standards with a yellowish green veined network in the center. Falls are an intensely deep velvety black purple with a white sunburst. A wide deep purple belly stripe runs from the beard to the purple band. This is one spectacular iris. Great form, buds, branching and growth, and show stalks always. Tenacity has been marked as an introduction since its maiden bloom. She is also proving to be a very good parent. Sdlg. Pronounced sweet fragrance This beauty is another project that has taken more than a few generations to get achieve, and it still isn’t finished. The goal is a clear pink amoena and blue/pink bicolor. Both are possible given enough generations. Cool white standards have light green veins up midribs. Light peach falls blend to buttery yellow. Sweet fragrance. Deep golden yellow standards, deeper in the center. Falls are a medium blue purple with a wide red haft bar that extends out below the beard and then blends into the blue purple. There is a buff yellow fall edge setting the stage for the wild beards. Beards are yellow with long horns or flounces in shades of purple. Out Of Character was given its name because it is not always consistent with its horns. Some years they are very consistent throughout; other years it is less so.
