Slight spicy fragrance Descendants of ‘Delectable Treat’ have great substance. This is one of them. It takes 4 or 5 days for the flowers to open and expand. This cross gave a wide range of unique colors and patterns and most having superior branching and buds. Standards and styles are mid greenish yellow. Hafts of greenish cream falls are veined mid rosy brown changing to solid edgings along upper half. Dark pumpkin beards add a bit of warmth. Light fragrance. Creamy standards have pink centers and a gilt lemon edge. Falls are yellow with red violet lines extending from the beard to near the petal edge. Sweet fragrance. Ooh la la is what I say each year when this one starts to flower. Impeccable wide and ruffled form. Not really sure whether to call this a bicolor or a blend. Whatever it is, we like it very much, and we love to hybridize with it. Blended golden orange and salmon standards swirl elegantly above light rosy lavender falls with a peach wash, deeper at the hafts, and lighter as it moves down the petal. Oh, and did we mention it is ruffled? This was a very productive cross and has yielded many intros including last year’s Head Of The Class and Refined Elegance. Sdlg. Slight fragrance. If you have ever wondered what that iris is on the homepage of the website, well here it is. Pretty Rich likely will never win on the show bench, as the stems are a bit high branched and tighter budded. However, the flowers open sequentially, clumps have a long season of bloom, and the color is to die for. Very strong growth and beautiful healthy foliage add to its garden value. Sdlg.
