Pronounced sweet fragrance Oh YES, I really like this one. Be sure to take in the lovely, nuanced colors. Tight classically formed flowers have waxen substance and sheen. Lightly laced red brown standards blend to wide dark mulberry bands, a very interesting color transition. Narrow crinkle laced black cherry falls are touched with white dotting. The white chevron around the multi-layered beard is heavily mottled mid black cherry. Three layered beards are white to dark purple and tipped old gold. Strong, disease resistant foliage. Cream Standards infused solid deep apricot in the center lightening to near white at edge. Falls have a large peach spot overlaid and washed deeper rose and then banded in cream and edged in light peach. Beards are bright red orange. Great form and branching with up to 11 buds.

Very light buff pink Standards flushed heavily with Med. Violet in the center. Falls are deep violet with deeper veining and a lavender band. Lovely formed flowers and a strong grower with heavy bloom. Makes a nice show.

Five stars go to this uniquely beautiful plicata. Pale yellow standards centers blend to wide silvery white bands touched pale yellow on their tips. White stylearms are adorned with bright yellow crests. Brassy butterscotch plicata hafts and narrow bands encircle white falls. Mid marigold beards cause little controversy. Strong show stalks have 4 branches and 14-16 buds that give ‘Art Critic’ an outstanding presence in the garden. A mild sweet fragrance will set the mood.

Light fragrance. Medium rose-lavender-pink standards and edge on lighter pink falls. There is a darker pink blush on either side of the beautiful saturated pink beards. Very nice ruffled and laced form on nice show stems. As You Wish is an easy grower and has been used heavily in hybridizing. This is an iris that we like a lot!! Sdlg. We would love to have a nice blue and orange bicolor and this is certainly a strong step in that direction. Standards are blue with deeper blue centers and veins, then ending with light buff edges. Falls are salmon orange/pink with a bit lighter area below tangerine beards. Great Show stem branching with ample buds. Very showy and pretty! Unique!

Pronounced sweet fragrance Two of this year’s introductions are from this cross that produced many delightful seedlings. ‘Me and My Shadow’ has proven to be a solid parent for quality later blooming hardy plicatas. Light blending to dark butterscotch standards have fine darker caramel veining. Styles are darker butterscotch with styles veined brown. Crisp white falls are decorated with wide dark burgundy plicata bands while near black irregular lines descend part way down their centers. Three well-spaced branches carry 7-8 buds. A vigorous and hardy plicata.

Peach pink Standards with lighter peach edge. Falls have a peach pink ground overlaid and washed with deeper lavender texture vein lines. The falls are then encircled with a lighter peach edge. The flowers are full formed and heavily ruffled and laced. Nicely branched stems. The flower can vary being more clean peach tones with lighter violet fall veins in warm sunny weather and showing more violet and more pronounced veining especially in the falls on cooler cloudy days. Check out both photos to see the difference. Either way it is very pretty and unique. Very different!

The extreme ruffles of Baltic Sea reminds us of the power of crashing, windswept waves as they curl toward the shore. Large, tightly formed medium marine blue flowers are breathtaking when seen singly or in clump. Beards are soft cream to blue-white. Strong growth produces stalks with 3 branches and about 9 buds. Heavy substance helps Baltic Sea maintain its lovely form even in the rain.

This bright and showy iris is being named in honor of Thomas’s grandmother. It is a beauty to look at and a durable workhorse in the garden. Clear vivid yellow standards color is repeated over the hafts. Mid lavender blue blended falls give way to brassy gold bands.

Medium lavender pink standards. Falls are darker with a lighter edge. Beards are a frosted lavender. Nice show stems, and a good grower. The flowers are well formed with nice width and are lightly laced. A very lovely pastel. Classy!

Sweet fragrance. Egg shell to light lavender standards with a narrow buff-gold ruffled rim. Milk glass white falls have a deep violet plicata band. There is a heavy concentration of violet across the hafts that forms a solid violet dart below burnt orange beards. Contrasting medium salmon style arms and a slight blush of salmon on the hafts of the falls completes the effect. A super strong grower with lovely show stems and triple bud sockets from top to bottom yields 12 or more total buds.

This is a color combination I am a bit of a sucker for. Brilliant bright yellow standards that are exceptionally clean are held over light to medium lavender falls. The falls have deeper texture veins that run the length of the petals and the hafts are touched yellow. Strong stems on large classically formed flowers.
