Standards have a white ground that is almost completely overlaid with lavender blue. Falls have a stark white ground with a deep inky blue purple plicata band. Tangerine beards are tipped violet. Garden performance is what comes to mind when I think of this iris. It is a very floriferous and strong grower that is quite stunning in full clump. Amazingly beautiful!!

Your head spins round with the whirlwind of colors of this broken color type. White standards are randomly splashed light lilac and tan. Fall centers are white blended outward to mid yellow and narrowly edged white and then randomly streaked, splashed, veined and mottled varying shades of vibrant red plum. You won’t miss seeing these wildly colorful flowers. Three well-spaced branches produce 7-8 buds.

Slight spicy fragrance Other crosses using ‘Starry Starry Night’ have yielded more startling broken color plicatas. Plic markings on ‘Misplaced Dots’ are quite variable but the overall look is a traditional violet blue plicata. In breeding it has both the possibility of rebloom and broken color plics. Mid violet blue standards have slightly darker edge stitching and white plic centers. Styles are dark violet blue. Narrow mid violet blue plic bands encircle white falls with centers heavily and randomly dotted mid violet blue. Super tall stalks have 3-4 branches plus spur and 9-11 buds. Sweet fragrance. Here we have one of my infamous “small flowered tall bearded” introductions. Disclaimer: There is no such class. It is a TB, the only class for it. It is from about as diverse a parentage as one can get. There are TBs, tet MTBs, IBs, and SDBs in its background. What a breeding bonanza! Expect considerable variation in seedling heights in breeding. Clumps are filled with show stalks that have 3 to 4 branches and 12-15 buds. It is a showstopper. Growth and disease resistance is A++.
