A difficult iris to photograph but stunning to see in person, especially in clump. White standards have a clean gold edge. Falls are white with a deep violet band and gold touched hafts. The super clean white falls are the perfect contrast for tangerine beards. A clump of Reach the Stars is memorable to say the least!!

Reaching for the sky on strong stalks with incredible branches that have spurs on the lower branches. Standards and styles are pink. Falls are medium purple. Extending from the tangerine beards are large flounces that are orchid pink on top and medium purple on the reverse side. 4 branches with 11 to 12 buds.

No fragrance. We have loved this since its opening bloom. An amoena plicata. White standards. White styles, with blue behind the anthers. The falls are pure white with1/4” mid blue plicata stitched edge and deeper blue violet hafts, reaching across to the white based, tipped yellow beards. Gorgeous balanced ruffled form. Fertile.

Orchid violet standards emphasize the orchid violet band on the blue violet falls. The matching blue violet beards extend into horns. A really good garden and show iris.

HEART AND SOUL (Thomas Johnson ’26)

Slight musky fragrance Heart And Soul has a pattern that one would be more likely to see in an SDB. The colors are so bright, especially in the sun, that one wants to reach for the sunglasses! Best described as a super brilliant canary yellow to gold with a large, plush, deep burgundy fall spot. Absolutely amazing and shows from clear across the field.
