No word description will do it justice. The falls plic pattern somewhat approximates a pumila spot plicata. Mid cantaloupe styles peer from inside light pink standards blending to buff margins. Mid cantaloupe falls have mid plum plicata hafts and streak at the end of tangerine beards. The plic band becomes paler and narrower as it continues around the falls. Five branches and 10-11 buds.

Big, blocky flowers are slightly bitoned mulberry rose. Large, bushy coral tangerine beards are the perfect accessory for this fashionably dressed, full-sized lady. Makes a very showy clump.

Cream ground almost completely overlaid with pink and a little bit of violet dotting. Falls are stark white with a violet plicata band. Beards tangerine with red tips. A very clean and pretty bicolor plicata. Nice wide form and strong growth with show stems. Nice!!

As closest to black as we have seen with huge mustard yellow beards. Very startling. Named after my great Aunt Kay, whose favorite color just happens to be black. A very special Iris named after a great lady.

Dusty rose standards with deeper violet flush in center. Falls are slate blue purple with dusty rose hafts and tangerine beards. Well branched and budded stems assure a Queen of Show every time. Mystery Lady is a heavy bloomer covering itself in flowers. Strong growth with rapid increase. An iris that will draw you in for a closer inspection every time. Nice!!

Sweet fragrance. Canary yellow standards. Falls are light lavender blue below the beard becoming lighter towards the edge. The hafts are touched yellow and there is a light yellow band that surrounds the fall. You Can Jive produces quality show stems with 10 or more buds, grows with strong vigor, and blooms profusely. In fact it puts on such a show that I simply have to stop to admire it each day when it is in flower. Uniqueness can be determined not only by color or pattern but garden performance and this one certainly does that.

Pronounced spicy fragrance It is quite reminiscent of ‘Daughter of Stars’ but shares little in common ancestry. White veins trace through violet blue standards. Dark purple falls are brightened by white luminata patches and dart at the end of beards. Show stalks to be expected from the parentage have 2 branches plus spur and 7-9 buds. Clumps command your attention.

Light sweet fragrance. Very light lavender to white standards with a bit of pink at the base. Falls are a rich medium lavender. This is an iris that we adore. The flowers are so immense and with the wide ruffles it looks like floating clouds when it is in full flower. It is so hard to capture its true grandeur in a photograph. Lovely and an easy grower. There is no ignoring this exceptionally nice creation. Its big bushy mid marigold beards demand you stop and look. Standards and narrow band on white falls are mid gold. Perfectly proportioned show stalks have three branches and 9-10 buds. Near perfection. Exciting parentage.

SDB Late-very late 14” (35.5cm) Slight sweet fragrance.
It is another of my late blooming, multiple budded and branched SDBs. The flowers are a miniaturized version of Bride’s Halo. White flowers have narrow light yellow bands. Show stalks have three branches and 8-9 buds. Unheard of for a SDB. From two of my favorite varieties.
