Sweet fragrance. White standards with a light lemon-yellow flush up the midribs. Falls are white with an irregular dark lavender blue band. Lemon-yellow hafts shine brightly on either side of yellow-orange beards. Cash and Carry forms large clumps very quickly that cover themselves in bloom. Nicely formed flowers are held on consistent show stems carrying tens buds. A clump of Cash and Carry is simply amazing! Reliable fall rebloom!

Sweet fragrance. Deep golden yellow standards, deeper in the center. Falls are a medium blue purple with a wide red haft bar that extends out below the beard and then blends into the blue purple. There is a buff yellow fall edge setting the stage for the wild beards. Beards are yellow with long horns or flounces in shades of purple. Out Of Character was given its name because it is not always consistent with its horns. Some years they are very consistent throughout; other years it is less so. Jackie is one of my best friends. She has always been a big help by leaving pink post-it notes on seedlings she thinks I should keep. We’ve had many good laughs together. She also insists on helping me plant my iris seeds each fall. Of course I wouldn’t hurt her feelings by saying no. She makes it all fun. She likes brown irises, so for her here is a white and dark red-brown plicata. Note the pronounced lines in the falls. Strong stalks have three branches and 8-9 buds.
