Named after our little dog, Tula is a beauty that was labeled for introduction since its maiden bloom. Standards are an off white with light violet plicata dots and lemon flush throughout. Falls are interesting with white ground overlaid almost completely with deeper violet plicata dots. Adding to the interest are deep violet veins that extend from around the beard to petal edge. All of this is highlighted by very shocking medium lemon style arms that are very visible, creating a strong contrast. Three buds, good growth and bloom habits make this a garden favorite and a fun parent.

Named after the Celtic God of thunder and storms. Standards are dusky apricot shaded dark purple at the midrib. Stormy black falls have deep wavy ruffles. Even the beards are stormy, they are dark purple, tipped old gold. 9 to 10 buds.

Sweet fragrance. Light yellow standards sit atop clean orchid blue falls. There is a lighter orchid wash area below the yellow-orange beard. Great stems with nice branching and bud count. The form is wide and expansive with nice ruffles. The photo shows what the flower looks like after it has been fully open for a day. The color starts out darker and transforms to the photo color. A very clean and pretty bicolor.

No fragrance Breeding for a pure white with dark blue beard TBs has been the pursuit of many hybridizers and one that has yet to be accomplished. The link between beard saturation and petal color has been near impossible to break. The darker the beard, the bluer the petals. The whiter the petals, the lighter the beard becomes. ‘Caterpillar Blues’ is a very light reverse blue amoena with a darker blue beard. Disease resistant foliage and durable plants produce plenty of bloom stalks with 3 branches and 6-7 buds.

Pronounced sweet fragrance. Be careful this intriguing character doesn’t sneak up on you. Swirling mid to light slate blue standards are flushed darker gray violet up midribs. Ruffled mustard yellow falls have paler centers and are veined darker gold. Show stalks with 3 branches and spur have 8-10 buds which is characteristic of both parents. Robust growth ensures this gator will be back year after year.

Slight fragrance. Very light yellow-orange standards. Falls have a white ground that is completely lined with deep maroon red lines and veins. The hafts are touched yellow. Beards are white with tangerine hair tips. Very striking and the first lined SDB in this color that we know of. The parents of this one are the two iris named after our two little dogs. Sdlg. YOWZA (Paul Black 23)

Slight sweet fragrance Considerable breeding has taken place to create fuller and more ruffled MTBs. After years of refining, the goal has been achieved. These classically formed and ruffled blooms create an elegant presence. Mid lilac standards base blends upward to light mauve pink with gilt tan-gold rims. Mid mauve pink styles peer out over very round light buff-pink falls etched with plum veins over their hafts. Fluffy tangerine beards top it all off. Strong growth creates clumps filled with show stalks having 3 branches plus 2 spurs with 9-12 buds. Exceptionally nice in every respect. Sdlg. Sweet fragrance. Bountiful ruffles give a bubbly presence to these handsome dark flowers. Larger flowers on well-branched stalks make quite a sight in the garden. Cool beards are big and bushy, with a purple base with orange tips in the throat and center, and purple with white frosted tips at the end. Sldg. Ooh la la! Look at that form!!! Truly, a stunning iris. Such a gorgeous shade of strawberry pink, with a lighter area below the awesome pink beard. Impeccable form in a beautiful color. Great stems and buds round it out. Probably one of the most, if not the most, gorgeous individual iris flowers I have seen. Its only flaw is that it is a very late flowering variety that does not like opening in extreme heat. A favorite from its maiden bloom, and one I can hardly wait to see flower each year.

TB Early-midseason 34” (86.5cm) Pronounced sweet fragrance.
Standards are mid blue veined darker blue. Here is where it gets interesting to describe. Falls are the same as standards except a bit grayed, but with contrasting rich walnut brown hafts. Gilt gold rims widen to narrow light gray bands. Its uniqueness draws one back again and again for a closer look. It is a strong grower, with 2 branches plus spur and 6-7 buds.

Named for our dearly departed friend Emma Cook, since the pattern of this iris was named after her. Standards are snow white; styles are tinted ice blue white, with yellow at the base of the standards. The snow white falls are banded medium purple, with a lighter watermark between the purple and the white. Beards are bright full yellow. Seven buds on strong stems.
