Gold standards with slight violet line up the midrib. Falls are lavender purple with deep gold thumbprints on either side of brilliant tangerine beards. A brown band around the falls brings the whole pattern to life. Wide overlapping falls, an easy grower and very floriferous, Diamond Heart is a welcome addition to the early season.

Lovely coral to peach pink standards. Falls are a pretty lavender pink with deeper coral hafts and a lighter area below nice shrimp pink beards. Beautiful form on nicely ruffled flowers. A very elegant a yummy color. A later flowering variety with nice show stems. Classy!

A total new pattern in TBs is emerging. We have loved this one from its maiden bloom. Garden nickname had been “pansy face” because it reminds us of a pattern you would find on a Pansy flower. Standards are lemon yellow deeper at the base. Falls are white with a faint yellow halo band near edge of petals. What really sets this flower off is the dramatic rusy to red central signal that surrounds the orange beard. Not the easiest of parents but from what we have bloomed from it so far it is well worth the effort. Nice stem with up to 8 buds.

Slight sweet fragrance. A complete self of reddish brown, wide, flared and lightly ruffled. Beards are yellow over white. Lovely branching and an easy grower. Can rebloom in warmer climates. Very fertile.

Slight sweet fragrance. Cream standards with solid peach pink centers that radiate into peach veining towards the edges. Falls are flamingo pink with light yellow blending and tangerine beards. Very vigorous growth and an abundance of well budded stalks make for a long flowering period. Colorful and bright!!

Sweet fragrance. Bluish pink standards and edge on icy blue white falls. Big, bushy, frosted light blue beards add to the attraction. Nice wide form on heavily ruffled and ever so slightly laced flowers. The coloring is somewhat similar to last year’s introduction, Eyes Of An Angel. Someone To Love is more of a blue pink in color and the beards are larger. They are definitely different in the garden and have different parental heritage. Both are a great advancement in the blue bearded pink breeding lines.

Slight spicy fragrance. Here is another stop along the way to redder TBs. ‘Morning Show’ has shown in median breeding the ability produce quite red offspring and so I incorporated it into the TBs. ‘Last of the Wine’ is a mid and dark garnet bi-tone that leans well into red. Nicely branched and budded stalks.

Sweet fragrance. Standards are a bright gold with a bit of maroon shot up the midribs. Falls are a medium maroon with yellow influences giving it the appearance of a sort of brown with a lighter edge. A color combination not often seen and a good iris for those who love brown. Slight sweet fragrance. I have a bit of a love for orange amoenas and this one is no exception! Standards are cream with orange centers. Falls are a rich orange with deep red-orange beards. Light fragrance. A difficult to describe shade of orange. A blend of coral, peach, and orange depending on the lighting. Crisp, nicely ruffled flowers with flaring falls are well placed on strong stalks. The deep coral orange beards are completed by the upturned horns. Musky fragrance. The quest for a TB with blue standards and pink falls has been a long and frustrating road for many hybridizers. Along the way there are beautiful seedlings worthy of introduction, and this is one of those. Larger flowers are carried on sturdy stalks. Notice the peach pink styles peering from between violet-blue standards. Standards are a blended light blue-violet and pink. What keeps Ring Of Love from being just another white and violet blue plicata? It is the superbly formed flowers and the precise distribution of stalks throughout the clumps. Falls are wide, round and perfectly ruffled. It makes for a stunning clump.

What makes this light blue bitone with falls veined darker mid-blue special? I think it is the best attempt so far to put a pink beard on a blue iris. It has been a challenge for many hybridizers. Its other special feature is the clumps filled with bloom stalks creating an overpowering display of color in the garden. To say it is floriferous is an understatement, and yet, there is plenty of increase left.
