JUST CURIOUS (Thomas Johnson ’22)

Sweet fragrance. Medium orange standards with darker centers and style arms. Falls are a light butter yellow with an old rose band and lighter white area below the brilliant orange beard. Super grower with well branched and budded show stems. I have used Just Curious heavily in hybridizing, it is a fantastic parent for all sorts of different rimmed patterns. It also transmits its vigorous plant habit and great stems quite easily to its children. There will be many introductions from it in the next few years. Beautiful!!

PLAY WITH ZEBRAS (P. Black '25)
TB Midseason-late 34” (86.5cm) Pronounced musky fragrance.
Talk about a zebra of a different stripe. This is one of the few broken color plicatas, and one with sterling plant habits and superbly formed flowers. White standards have a wide dark purple plicata band and closely spaced dotting over the center. Wide and ruffled falls are white with dark purple broken color segments, streaks, dotting, and sanding. Show stalks have three branches and 7-8 buds. I’m working on zebras in other colors now. What a fun project this is!

TYRANNOSIRIS REX (P. Black '25)
TB Midseason-late 33” (84cm) Slight sweet fragrance.
Well, maybe it isn’t quite as large as Tyrannosaurus Rex, but it is big and exuberantly ruffled. The standards have a small grayed light-yellow center that blends to light pewter, then to a wide light grayed brown band. Expansive falls are mid grayed yellow with mahogany hafts blended lighter to their edge. Mid old gold beards end in a short, wide, slate violet stripe. Unique it is! Excellent plant habits help create memorable clumps filled with show stalks.

TB Early-midseason-late 38” (96.5cm) No fragrance.
Icy blue white standards have lemon bases and a gold halo. Falls are white with a blue band and lemon hafts. Beards are more yellow than orange, giving the flower brightness and light. Best of all are the plant habits. Vigorous plants cover themselves with an abundance of tall, well-branched stems, creating an amazing floral display. It got its name when I walked by a clump of it in full flower last year and commented to myself that there is certainly “no denying” you! Sdlg. TN70XX: So Excited sibling X Angelic Morn
