Nothing else like it! It was a favorite from its first bloom. Mid sulfur yellow standards are blushed orange. Mid orange falls are narrowly banded bright yellow and set ablaze with big red orange beards.

QUIGLEY (Thomas Johnson ’22)

Slight fragrance. I found it quite difficult to capture the unique beauty of Quigley in a photograph. I am still not completely satisfied. The color is more vibrant than the photo shows. It is one of those that I kept coming back to admire and study its unique coloration. Really fun in full clump, sorry I missed getting a good clump shot, but there is so much happening at once in the spring and such little time. Brassy gold standards with a little white ground showing in the centers. Falls have a white ground below the beard then cinnamon dotting and a central belly stripe. A brassy gold band encircles the fall. Very different and unique.

SDB Late-Very Late 15” (38cm)
Pronounced sweet fragrance For breeders, here’s a lovely twofer for you, luminata and plicata on one side and lace of the other. It makes for an exciting parent. Ruffled and lightly laced khaki standards have slate red violet bases. Light khaki style crests are laced. Mid yellow hafts are veined mid mahogany and darker mahogany over lower half. A neat narrow ruffled and laced light khaki band encircles them. Soft old gold beards are the perfect complement. Sdlg. AA259D: Jolly X Little Bit of Lace

SDB Early-midseason 14” (35.5cm) Slight fragrance.
Pink with a wide golden yellow border on the standards, falls and even style arms. There is also a slight lemon blush at the hafts. A really beautiful color combination that is so pleasing to the eye. Stunning!

Yellow and gold bands are the chic adornment now. Mid light salmon standards and falls are banded mid yellow. White beards are tipped coral. Colorful clumps are a standout in the garden.

SDB Midseason-late 13” (33cm) Pronounced sweet fragrance.
What an amazing color. Standards are mid rosy pink becoming paler toward edges and rimmed light tan-gold. Mid rosy pink falls have light peach hafts veined mid rosy brown and rimmed light tan-gold. Big coral beards are a great adornment.
