HONOR ROLL (Thomas Johnson ’22)

Sweet fragrance. Honor Roll is the fourth sister in this cross to be introduced and it has been used heavily in my hybridizing program. Palest cream standards are veined and infused light lemon and deep gold at the base. Falls are a very deep plush burgundy with a wide light lavender band that blends into a light yellow edge. Heavily ruffled parts of the petal backs show and add to the effect with multiple layers of color. Nice stems with good branching and bud count make it a winner. A very beautiful iris and a favorite for sure. Check out all the pictures of Honor Roll as the flower ages through the days the yellow pigments become more creamy white. Gorgeous either way, we love this iris and we think you will too.

Sweet fragrance. Wow! This is a favorite that I look forward to blooming each year. Such a strange but pretty and intriguing combination of colors. Sweet fragrance. Light violet flushed standards have a buff rim. Falls are a rich deep violet with a wide medium lavender band. Beards are purple with orange hair tips. Nice wide round and blocky form really helps to show off the dramatic falls. Well branched and budded stems will help it win on the show bench. Striking color and pattern. Sdlg. WOVEN TAPESTRY (Thomas Johnson ’26)

Standards are the faintest of oyster blue with violet and pink washed centers. Falls are rich mauve, with a deep reddish purple washed central fall spot. Beards are burnt orange. We just love the colors of this iris, and it is illustrated so well, in a dramatic pattern. Nice stems with plenty of buds. Sdlg. TO238A: For The Ages X Suspicious Minds

COSMETOLOGIST (Thomas Johnson ’26)
TB Early-midseason 35” (89cm) Sweet fragrance.
This is a plicata pattern that has a lot going on. Standards have a very light lavender ground, with lavender dotting showing in the center, and then becoming a medium lemon band. Falls are a light lavender white ground, with a deep burgundy haft bar, and a faint lilac lavender dotted edge. Even the beard is complex, with a white base and hair tips that change from burgundy to orange as it moves towards the heart of the flower. Cosmetologist comes from a line of plicatas that are not from traditional plicata breeding; they descend from recessive plicatas that appeared in bicolor breeding lines. GONE BALLISTIC (Thomas Johnson ’26)
TB Early-midseason-late 39” (99cm) Slight musky fragrance.
Golden yellow standards are darker in the center. Wide and ruffled falls are medium lavender with a deep plush burgundy center that breaks up as it moves towards the pencil thin burgundy edge. A very colorful and bright pattern. Well-branched stems are tall, carrying wide and ruffled flowers. Vigorous growth and lots of buds ensures a strong and long bloom season. Sdlg. MARDI GRAS MASK (Thomas Johnson ’26)
TB Early-midseason-late 38” (96.5cm) Slight sweet fragrance.
Standards are lavender with a blended pink and orange center that extends out to the edge as veining. Falls are rich blue lavender with a deep inky purple diffused signal. Beards are a stunning mixture of orange and purple, giving the appearance of brown. A very wildly patterned iris that is an easy grower, with buds and branching galore. Sdlg.
