Sweet fragrance. A bit of a hard color combination to describe. Standards are a muted lavender violet lightening towards the edge and becoming a gold band and then a very light lavender edge. Falls are mostly a deep plush red-violet but with a deeper blue blended central belly stripe. The blue coloration also peeks through closer to the fall edge. The edge of the petal has a border of light flesh pink. The blue tipped beards also add a lot to the pattern. Wonderful large and ruffled flowers with exquisite form that keeps you coming back for another look. 8 buds are borne on nicely branched stems. Proving to be an excellent parent. The color does lighten with age but gracefully and with class.

Light fragrance. Light lavender to white standards with slightly darker lavender stitching and dotting. Falls are white with a violet dotted edge. There is a narrow violet belly stripe below the beard. The beard is quite intricate with a white base and then purple and finally orange hair tips. Sweet fragrance. A very difficult color to describe. Standards have a violet and pinkish blended center that transitions into golden yellow veins and outer band. Slight fragrance. Medium lavender standards are infused violet in the center and etched with a deep violet wire rim. Falls are a plush burgundy to black with a narrow lighter rim. HIGH WIRE ACT (T. Johnson ’25)

High Wire Act is such a beautiful iris, especially in a clump where it really shines, showing off its beautiful gold rim. Standards are cream with very faint gold veining in the center and a violet line up the midrib. The wide ruffled gold band really catches the eye. Falls are white, with a very wide rust red dotted band and white wire rim. A violet line down the center of the petal, from below the beard to the petal’s edge, adds another dimension of intrigue.

UNDENIABLE (Thomas Johnson ’26)

Slate white standards have a blue flush in the center. Falls are a gorgeous slate lavender blue with a lighter wash area around the blueish white beard. There is also a slightly darker lavender rim on the falls. Undeniable was named for obvious reasons; there was never any doubt that it was going to be released. It has beautiful form on tall, well-branched and balanced stems, and is a very strong grower that blooms and blooms from early to late in the iris bloom season.
