Puerto Vallarta the iris kind of reminds me of the beautiful sunsets over the ocean on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, thus the name. Brilliant golden yellow standards. Falls have dark yellow hafts that blend to a lighter lemon wash and finally deepening to a mustard yellow edge. Salmon shadings are deeper at the haft becoming a blended wash inside the yellow edge. There is also a large white patch below the intensely saturated yellow/orange beards. A very consistent garden performer with show stems and 9 buds. An easy and strong grower that really adds a bright spot of color in the garden. Super!!

Light sweet fragrance. Very light lavender to white standards with a bit of pink at the base. Falls are a rich medium lavender. This is an iris that we adore. The flowers are so immense and with the wide ruffles it looks like floating clouds when it is in full flower. It is so hard to capture its true grandeur in a photograph. Lovely and an easy grower. Salmon to orange standards have a violet infusion up the midrib. Falls have a salmon orange ground that is heavily overlaid with mulberry purple. More of the salmon ground color shows through on either side of the dark mulberry belly stripe. Beautiful form on incredible stems that can have up to 4 branches, 4 spurs, and up to 16 buds. Mysterious One has been very valuable, not only for its beauty, but for its breeding potential for pink and orange ground plicatas. It is also a super strong and easy grower. Sdlg. Brilliant golden yellow standards rise above falls with a golden yellow center and a reddish violet overlay wash below the beard. The overlay becomes a deep reddish violet band, with a lighter rosy pink narrow edge. Lots going on in this flower for sure. Patterned iris like this one are so fun, in that the longer you look at them the more complex you realize the color scheme is.
