FOLLOW LOVE (P. Black '25)
SDB Early-midseason 14” (35.5cm) No fragrance.
What makes this lovely iris special is the three-toned marigold to white beard dividing the light yellow to white luminata patch on the dark indigo falls. Standards are also dark indigo. Styles are white with indigo crests. It makes an impressive clump.

PLAY WITH ZEBRAS (P. Black '25)
TB Midseason-late 34” (86.5cm) Pronounced musky fragrance.
Talk about a zebra of a different stripe. This is one of the few broken color plicatas, and one with sterling plant habits and superbly formed flowers. White standards have a wide dark purple plicata band and closely spaced dotting over the center. Wide and ruffled falls are white with dark purple broken color segments, streaks, dotting, and sanding. Show stalks have three branches and 7-8 buds. I’m working on zebras in other colors now. What a fun project this is!

GRACED WITH LACE (P. Black '25)
TB Late-very late 33” (84cm) No fragrance.
What a great end to the season this laced wonder is. Standards of mid orchid blend to rosy pink and are topped and edged with crinkled lace. Expansive falls blend from grayed white centers to rosy pink, and are also edged in lace. Colorful yet elegant. Show stalks, just in case you ever have a really late show.

LATE TO THE PARTY (P. Black '25)
TB Late-very late 35” (89cm) Slight sweet fragrance.
For those in colder climates and areas subject to late frosts and freezes, a plicata being Late To The Party is a good thing. White standards have wide mid-dark purple plicata banding and sparse dotting over the center. The white of the standards accents the dark purple style arms. White falls have dark plum plicata hafts and narrow light plum plicata bands. The large mid marigold beards are an interesting accent. Overall, a very clean and exciting flower. The ground color and plicata markings are somewhat variable. Two branches plus spur carry 7-8 buds.

PEACH BERRY JUMBLE (P. Black '25)
TB Midseason-late 33” (84cm) No fragrance.
The time of broken colored irises with poor form, stalks, buds, and growth is past. Now is the time to put this colorful beauty in your garden. Standards have mid to dark mulberry segments and streaks, and mid to light peach segments and streaks. Falls have a mid peach ground, white around the beards, and mid to dark mulberry segments, streaks, sanding, and dotting. WOW! What a wild and crazy flower. Vigorous growth produces show stalks with three branches and 8-9 buds.

BLUEPRINT FOR SPRING (P. Black '25)
TB Midseason-late 36” (91.5cm) Slight sweet fragrance.
What makes this light blue bitone with falls veined darker mid-blue special? I think it is the best attempt so far to put a pink beard on a blue iris. It has been a challenge for many hybridizers. Its other special feature is the clumps filled with bloom stalks creating an overpowering display of color in the garden. To say it is floriferous is an understatement, and yet, there is plenty of increase left.

COMPLETE OPPOSITE (Thomas Johnson ’26)
TB Early-midseason 38” (97cm)
Slight fragrance What can we say about this one? Contrast certainly comes to mind! Deep blue purple standards sit atop cinnamon brown falls. Tall stems with lightly ruffled flowers have carrying power out the kazoo! Holy cow does this one make a statement, it is the iris that garden visitors most often tell me about, it seems to imprint! Certainly unique and won’t be mistaken for anything else! Stems and branching are good, the flowers are not as wide and ruffled as I usually like, but certainly adequate. Sdlg. COSMIC (Thomas Johnson ’26)
TB Early-midseason 33” (84cm)
Sweet fragrance Some iris have such a complex coloration that it is hard to describe. To make matters worse the shade of purple in Cosmic can be different from day to day and from year to year. We struggled to figure out which picture to use for the catalogue and have included several shots on the website for you to see for yourself. No matter what the shade Cosmic is a blooming fool, absolutely covering itself in bloom and is intensely bright with its very wide gold band in the standards and yellow flash overlaying the white luminata patch on the falls. Slight fragrance Icy blue white standards. Falls are white with a wide lilac blue stitched and dotted band. Beards are red. ‘Guess What’ is a very strong grower and prolific bloomer. Well-formed flowers are carried on beautifully branched and budded stems. Really a gorgeous bloom with the overall effect being a blue plicata with a red beard. Parentage is unknown due to mixed cross tags.

HEAVEN’S ANGEL (Thomas Johnson ’26)
TB Midseason-late 36” (91cm)
Slight fragrance Wow is what I say whenever I see this one! The form is perfection! Combine that with a warm color confection with large wide and heavily ruffled flowers and you have a winner! Standards are a warm, clear medium pink with a cream edge. Falls are the lightest pink to near white with a stunning lavender band. Beards are near white as to not distract from the whole package. Nicely branched and budded stems round it out as a must have. This is one I have been waiting to introduce since its maiden bloom. Sdlg TO187C: Anti Hero sib

INTENSIFIER (Thomas Johnson ’26)
TB Early-midseason 37” (94cm)
Slight fragrance I literally took a step back when this bloomed for the first time. What makes ‘Intensifier’ so dramatic is the clarity and separation of the color. The standards are pure pristine white. Falls are a plush deep violet to near black with a light lavender band and then thinly etched in violet. Beards are orange with red tips. Really dramatic in the fields. Sdlg TN125A: Headline News X Smashing Sensation

PERFECT IN EVERY WAY (Thomas Johnson ’26)
TB 38” (97cm) Early-midseason-late
Sweet fragrance Ooh la la, this one is a stunner. I am not usually overtaken by yellow and white as the pattern has been done before but…. I simply cannot get enough of this, the form is impeccable, the stems and buds are first rate, and the clumps are like heaven! The color is so clean and clear and applied in such a way that it makes me want to just pull up a chair and sit and stare at it all day long. It is a recessive, or glaciata, or is it? If you tear down the flower and look deep in the heart you will see the smallest of short purple lines. Whatever the classification, it is certainly gorgeous and highly recommended.
