These tears add up to a stunning plicata. Classically formed ruffled blooms have palest pink standards heavily plic washed, sanded, and veined dark lilac. Wide pink buff fall centers are dotted mid lilac becoming darker and more heavily applied toward edges. White hafts are lined and sanded dark lilac on each side of burnt orange beards. Vigorous growth produces stalks with 3 branches plus spur and 9-10 buds. A pronounced sweet fragrance is a plus.

Sweet fragrance. Rich golden yellow standards have a maroon line in the center and some sporadic red dots. Falls have a deep yellow ground that is heavily overlaid with deep maroon red rays that become a solid band at petal edge. Tall well branched and showy stems. Apart from its excellent production of show stems, this lovely Iris should really charm the judges. The standards are white with a faint flush of soft pink at the midribs. The falls are wide and lightly ruffled and pastel peach over cream. Some light tan veining radiating from the hafts. Very fertile. Organza, its pod parent is proving to be a super parent.

Toronto, the iris, is just as colorful and bustling as the city. Exaggerated rococo style ruffling characterizes the warm, peachy buff standards infused maroon up midribs. Velvety dark maroon falls are decorated with lighter rose maroon ruffles. Beards are dark burnt orange. Very showy clumps.

Lovely coral to peach pink standards. Falls are a pretty lavender pink with deeper coral hafts and a lighter area below nice shrimp pink beards. Beautiful form on nicely ruffled flowers. A very elegant a yummy color. A later flowering variety with nice show stems. Classy!

Pronounced spicy fragrance. If broken colored sorts are your proclivity, ‘Too Mixed Up’ should be on your must have list. Flowers are the ultimate in ruffled form but buds are bit lacking at 6-7. Standards are silvery white with random dashes, segments and slashes of violet to red violet. Falls are the same except rosy peach hafts. Two colored beards have tangerine throats ending in light lavender. Vigorous growth.

Slight sweet fragrance. Unlike the English language, these alluring uncomplicated flowers need no explanation; they are simply beautiful. Raspberry rose standards color is repeated in a blended band around cream to light peach falls. Orange beards provide a pointed accent. Makes a more subtle statement in the landscape.

Sweet fragrance. We look forward to TIMELESS TREASURE to bloom each year. It always puts on such a show. Moderately sized more tailored flowers are borne in profusion with a more open clump effect. This allows the viewing of each individual flower yet still giving a visual mass of color. A unique and bright color with pink Standards over lavender falls with a deeper lavender waterfall pattern that extends from the beard to a pink fall border. We Like!!

Slight sweet fragrance I’ve thought for a while it was time for an update of the older, ‘Sand and Sea’. My ideal goal is yellow standards and band on blue falls. ‘Time Capsule’ is a notable step toward that goal. Dark red-violet standards base blend to gray then brassy gold then to tan margins. Pale blue falls are narrowly banded light yellow. Distinctive mid blue beards are tipped from tan throats to white ends. Compact flowers are lightly ruffled and laced. Three branches present 7-8 flowers.

THUNDERING APPLAUSE (T. Johnson ’20)

Coming out of my lined pattern breeding, THUNDERING APPLAUSE pushes the pattern a step further. We are finally getting wide ruffled and even slightly laced form. Creamy white standards are infused peach pink. Falls have a light lemon base that is overlaid with violet lines radiating from the heart of the flower and becoming more of a wash near the edge. Then the whole pattern is framed by a nice lemon-yellow band. Tangerine beards help to compliment the pattern. Super strong growth on floriferous clumps.

Pronounced sweet fragrance The quest goes on for a white with blue beard. Each year the hope is that it will be there in the new crop of seedlings. Alas, it hasn’t been. Fantastical visions can appear once you go ‘Through the Looking Glass’. This bright yellow glaciata has an unusual big white “what-would-be” a luminata spot if there were any anthocyanin (blue/purple) markings. Add your own antho- cyanin markings and see what you get. Sweet fragrance. Deep plum standards and band on blue lavender falls. There is also a brown rayed patch on either side of the beard. Speaking of the beard, it is humongous!! Sweet fragrance. Deep lemon-yellow standards with a lighter edge. Falls are a rust to burgundy with a white rayed pattern extending out from around the beard. The falls are then banded with a wide lemon border and then etched by a thin red line. This Is Crazy is breathtakingly beautiful in clump. We have loved this sister to Lovology from the first day it opened and it has been exceptional each season since. The standards are creamy white, deepening at midribs to soft lemon. Falls are creamy white with rich gold hafts spreading across the falls and shading lighter down the falls. Beards are golden orange, lightening towards outer parts. Branching is a bit high for a champion show stem, but it has heaps of buds and makes a spectacular display in a clump. Good increaser.

Slight fragrance. Icy blue white standards are heavily infused coral orange. Falls deep coral orange with near white flash below red beards. Coral pink style arms shine through the standards and are quite visible. Classic round and ruffled form. Flowers are more moderate sized on well branched and budded stems. Very sharp looking and bright.

Sweetly scented. A very unusual color pattern. I have found that it is a love it or hate it Iris with visitors. I love it but it is a bit gaudy for some. Clear butter yellow Standards sit atop yellow falls with a heavy maroon wash in a bit of a segmented broken color pattern. Very unique and different.

Sweet fragrance. Lavender blue standards with a yellowish green veined network in the center. Falls are an intensely deep velvety black purple with a white sunburst. A wide deep purple belly stripe runs from the beard to the purple band. This is one spectacular iris. Great form, buds, branching and growth, and show stalks always. Tenacity has been marked as an introduction since its maiden bloom. She is also proving to be a very good parent. Sdlg.
