Flesh pink standards rise above cream falls with a peach pink haft bar on either side of the large frosted blue beard. Gorgeous classic form on a stunning color pattern. A favorite!

Pink with a wide golden yellow border on the standards, falls and even style arms. There is also a slight lemon blush at the hafts. A really beautiful color combination that is so pleasing to the eye. Stunning!

Gorgeous coral to orange with pinker style arms and a touch of yellow at the hafts. Beards are brilliant coral to orange. Lovely color and form with three buds.

DAINTY BRIDE (P. Black '25)
SDB Late-very late 14” (35.5cm) Slight sweet fragrance.
It is another of my late blooming, multiple budded and branched SDBs. The flowers are a miniaturized version of Bride’s Halo. White flowers have narrow light yellow bands. Show stalks have three branches and 8-9 buds. Unheard of for a SDB. From two of my favorite varieties.

Gold Ripples is one of the most vigorous and floriferous SDBs in the garden. Beautifully ruffled dark slate gold flowers are minimally plicata marked dark brown. Mid marigold beards brighten this more subtle flower.

EPILOGUE (P. Black '25)
SDB Early-midseason 13” (33cm) Pronounced sweet fragrance.
Epilogue is another iris people have been waiting for. It is from my long running attempt to put lace on SDBs. The fall edges of this pretty flower are serrated but not truly laced. It seems I may never hit the goal. Light pink standards have light gilt yellow bands. Light pink styles look out over falls having light-mid yellow hafts and wide blended band with pale flesh pink centers.

TWO-TONE FOLIAGE (P. Black '25)
SDB Early-midseason 13” (33cm) Slight musky fragrance.
This is one of the few variegated foliage SDBs. It also has a hint of broken color in the center of the mid purple falls. Standards are mid mauve. Foliage is streaked green and cream. It is not totally stable. There will be some reversion to all-green foliage. Always cut the all-green plants out.

COZY KITTY (P. Black '25)

This kitty looks more like it is ready to go partying rather than cozy up at home. Falls on light pink flowers with mid pink styles have mid red-purple lined and sanded hafts and center stripes. Beards are flaming neon coral pink. Makes a joyful clump. Another interesting parentage.

These flowers are pink, pink and more pink. The clear pink is made possible by a white ground completely washed mid-light pink. Very round and ruffled blooms give as much viewing surface as possible for, what else, pink color.

Yellow and gold bands are the chic adornment now. Mid light salmon standards and falls are banded mid yellow. White beards are tipped coral. Colorful clumps are a standout in the garden.

What keeps Ring Of Love from being just another white and violet blue plicata? It is the superbly formed flowers and the precise distribution of stalks throughout the clumps. Falls are wide, round and perfectly ruffled. It makes for a stunning clump.

SDB Late-very late 14.5” (37cm) Slight musky fragrance.
This is another in my line of late blooming, multiple branched and budded SDBs. It is the beginning of an effort to put a contrasting fall spot into this line. Two toned grayed yellow blooms are carried on show stalks having two branches plus spur and 6-7 buds. Talk about a show iris!

What makes this lovely iris special is the three-toned marigold to white beard dividing the light yellow to white luminata patch on the dark indigo falls. Standards are also dark indigo. Styles are white with indigo crests. It makes an impressive clump.
