Puerto Vallarta the iris kind of reminds me of the beautiful sunsets over the ocean on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, thus the name. Brilliant golden yellow standards. Falls have dark yellow hafts that blend to a lighter lemon wash and finally deepening to a mustard yellow edge. Salmon shadings are deeper at the haft becoming a blended wash inside the yellow edge. There is also a large white patch below the intensely saturated yellow/orange beards. A very consistent garden performer with show stems and 9 buds. An easy and strong grower that really adds a bright spot of color in the garden. Super!!

Sweet fragrance. Flesh pink standards that are more pink in the centers and more peach on the edges. Falls are light lavender with and darker lavender center wash that extends from the red-orange beard to the petal edge. Hafts are touched peach. The fall is then banded with a warm flesh pink. Very ruffled with nicely branched stems and good bud count. A strong and gorgeous performer with an extended bloom period.

DISTANT SHORES (T. Johnson ’23)

Sweet fragrance. Icy white standards are infused light violet and pink at the midrib. Falls are lavender-blue violet with a lighter lavender edge. What brings life to Distant Shores is the pink in the base of the standards. It draws your eye in for a closer inspection of the frosted blue violet beard. Clean and clear light lemon yellow with a lighter wash around and below the large deep violet blue beard. Super strong grower and garden performer. Wow, wow wow!!

Standards have a cream base that is heavily overlaid with violet dotting in the center, extending out to form a lavender pink band. Falls are white with a slight lemon wash and a very precise deep violet stitched and dotted band. Magic Stitch is an absolutely incredible grower that covers itself in show stems. Flowers are very well-formed and held on strong stems. A super garden performer!!
